UPNVJ Undergraduate Political Science Study Program Undergoes LAMSPAK Accreditation Assessment, Reinforcing Academic Quality Enhancement

EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) conducted the LAMSPAK On-Site Accreditation Assessment for the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program under the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) on Wednesday, 8 July 2026. The assessment took place at the FISIP UPNVJ Auditorium beginning at 8:00 a.m. (WIB), bringing together the University’s leadership, faculty administrators, study program management, academic staff, assessors, and graduate employers. The assessment forms part of UPNVJ’s ongoing commitment to ensuring academic quality, strengthening study program governance, and enhancing the relevance of its graduates to societal and workforce needs.

For this accreditation assessment, LAMSPAK appointed two assessors, Dr. Drs. Fauzi, M.Si. and Dr. Wawan Budi Darmawan. They evaluated various aspects of the study program, including academic governance, curriculum design, human resources, learning facilities, and the program’s contribution to the advancement of political science as well as its responsiveness to the needs of graduate employers.

The on-site assessment also involved graduate employers as part of the external quality validation process. Among those participating were Roy Maryuna Siagian, S.Sos., M.Si., Head of the Research, Development, and Education Center of the General Elections Supervisory Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (Bawaslu RI), and Marina Mutiara Miraswati, Director of Communications and Information at Indodata. Their participation was essential in assessing how well the competencies of the program’s graduates align with the needs of public institutions, the information industry, and professional sectors related to politics and public policy communication.

UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A.Comm., emphasized that the on-site accreditation assessment is not merely an administrative requirement but also a strategic opportunity to strengthen the University’s quality culture. According to him, every study program must continuously ensure that its educational processes remain adaptive, measurable, and impactful for society.

“Accreditation is an integral part of UPNVJ’s commitment to continuously maintaining and enhancing the quality of education. We are committed to ensuring that the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program not only meets national standards but also continues to develop into a relevant, distinguished program capable of addressing the evolving needs of society, the nation, and scientific advancement,” said Prof. Anter Venus.

On the occasion, UPNVJ also highlighted several strategic priorities, including the strengthening of its State Defense (Bela Negara) values as the University’s institutional identity, the continued development of FISIP’s academic facilities, and the achievements of the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program, which has earned FIBAA international accreditation. These accomplishments constitute important assets in enhancing the program’s competitiveness at both the national and international levels.

Prof. Anter Venus further stated that the values of State Defense represent a defining characteristic of UPNVJ and should be reflected throughout education, research, community engagement, and graduate character development. He noted that Political Science graduates play a strategic role in strengthening democracy, public governance, public policy, and civic participation.

“UPNVJ carries both a moral and academic responsibility to produce graduates who are competent, adaptable, and embody the values of State Defense. Through the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program, we aspire to develop human resources who not only possess a thorough understanding of political theories and dynamics but also demonstrate integrity, social responsibility, and a strong commitment to serving the public interest,” Prof. Anter Venus stated.

In addition to academic excellence, the on-site assessment also highlighted the importance of learning support facilities within FISIP. The faculty’s academic ecosystem is supported by several specialized laboratories, including the Politics and International Relations Laboratory, the Radio and Podcast Laboratory, the Information Science and Multimedia Laboratory, the Film and Television Laboratory, and the Integrated Communication Laboratory.

Through this LAMSPAK on-site accreditation assessment, UPNVJ expects the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program within FISIP to further strengthen its educational quality standards, expand its collaborative partnerships, and enhance the contribution of its graduates to the advancement of democracy and public governance in Indonesia.
