EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Registration for prospective candidates for the Rector of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) for the 2026–2030 term officially closed on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. WIB. Since the registration period opened on May 22, 2026, the UPNVJ Rectorial Election Committee (PPR) has received applications from six candidates representing various higher education institutions across Indonesia. All submitted documents will undergo verification to ensure that each applicant meets the administrative requirements before proceeding to the next stage of the selection process.
Based on the applications received by the committee, the six candidates are:
Prof. Dr. H. Memen Kustiawan, S.E., M.Si., M.H., from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia;
Prof. Dr. Hasan Basri, S.Sos., M.Si., from Universitas Tulang Bawang;
Prof. Dr. Drs. Abdul Halim, S.H., M.Ag., from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta;
Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, from UPN “Veteran” Jakarta;
Dr. Sakroni, S.ST., M.Pd., from Politeknik Kesejahteraan Sosial Bandung; and
Dr. dr. Taufiq Fredrik Pasiak, M.Kes., M.Pd.I., M.H., from Universitas Sam Ratulangi Manado.
The Secretary of the UPNVJ Rectorial Election Committee, Suprima, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I., M.H., stated that the committee has begun reviewing the submitted documents in preparation for the administrative screening stage.
“The committee is currently conducting a verification process to ensure the completeness of the administrative documents submitted by prospective candidates for the position of Rector of UPNVJ for the 2026–2030 term,” he said.
The administrative screening stage is intended to ensure that each candidate satisfies the established requirements, including being a civil servant, holding at least the academic rank of Associate Professor (Lektor Kepala), possessing a doctoral degree, demonstrating managerial experience, and meeting the required standards of health, integrity, and employment record.
Candidates who successfully meet the requirements will proceed to the selection stage, during which they will present their vision, mission, and work programs before an open Senate meeting scheduled for July 27–31, 2026. The Senate will subsequently determine three rectoral candidates to be submitted to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. The final rectorial election, conducted during a closed Senate meeting, is scheduled to take place on September 7 or 9, 2026.
The UPNVJ Rectorial Election for the 2026–2030 term is being conducted in an open, transparent, and accountable manner as part of the university’s commitment to strengthening institutional governance. The process is expected to produce a leader capable of sustaining UPNVJ’s transformation, enhancing the quality of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, and strengthening the reputation of the State Defense Campus at both the national and international levels.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
