EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), through its Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), is undergoing an on-site accreditation assessment for two nursing study programs: the Undergraduate Nursing Study Program and the Professional Nursing (Ners) Education Program. The assessment, conducted by the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes), takes place from June 30 to July 4, 2026. The opening ceremony for the on-site assessment was held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, on the eighth floor of the MERCe Building, Faculty of Medicine, UPNVJ Limo Campus, and was officially inaugurated by the Rector of UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm.

The on-site assessment represents an important component of UPNVJ’s ongoing efforts to ensure that its educational governance, teaching and learning processes, graduate quality, human resources, research, community engagement, and supporting facilities comply with the quality standards for higher education in the health sciences. The two study programs undergoing assessment play a strategic role in preparing professional nursing graduates who are competent, adaptable, and embody the University’s State Defense (Bela Negara) values.

For this assessment, LAM-PTKes appointed three assessors: I Gede Putu Darma Suyasa, S.Kp., MNg., Ph.D.; Prof. Dr. Dessy Hermawan, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes.; and Ns. Syarifah Rauzatul Jannah, S.Kep., MNS., Ph.D. The assessment covers various aspects of academic operations, including academic documentation, program outcomes, the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi), and the verification of supporting evidence through on-site observations.

The on-site assessment also serves as an important opportunity for the Faculty of Health Sciences to demonstrate its sustained commitment to enhancing the quality of health sciences education. According to the official FIKES UPNVJ website, both the Undergraduate Nursing Study Program and the Professional Nursing (Ners) Education Program previously received a Very Good accreditation status, valid until July 30, 2026. The Faculty has undertaken extensive preparations for the reaccreditation process, including strengthening its Self-Evaluation Report to support the attainment of a higher accreditation rating for both programs.

The presence of the LAM-PTKes assessors extends beyond an administrative evaluation, providing an opportunity for institutional reflection and continuous improvement. Through this assessment, FIKES UPNVJ is expected to receive objective recommendations to further strengthen its curriculum, academic services, faculty competencies, student learning experiences, and collaborative partnerships with healthcare institutions.

UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm., considers accreditation strengthening to be an integral component of the University’s strategy for enhancing public trust in the quality of higher education. For UPNVJ, accreditation is not merely a matter of meeting regulatory standards but also a strategic instrument for ensuring that its graduates are well-equipped to address the evolving needs of society and the workforce, particularly within the rapidly developing healthcare sector. His name and official position as Rector of UPNVJ are listed on the University’s official leadership webpage.

Through the on-site accreditation assessment of its Nursing and Professional Nursing (Ners) programs, UPNVJ reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its quality culture, enhancing the competitiveness of its academic programs, and delivering health sciences education that is relevant, excellent, and impactful for society. These efforts are aligned with the Rector’s strategic policy of encouraging every faculty to reinforce institutional performance, academic excellence, and meaningful contributions to national development.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
