UPNVJ Opens Open Selection for the Election of the Rector for the 2026–2030 Term

EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has officially launched an open selection process for the Election of the UPNVJ Rector for the 2026–2030 Term. The candidate nomination phase commenced on 22 May 2026 and will remain open until 10 June 2026 at 23:59 Western Indonesia Time (WIB), accessible through the official UPNVJ website via the rector election portal. The selection is open to Civil Servants (PNS) who meet the eligibility requirements stipulated by the UPNVJ Rector Election Committee. This process constitutes an essential component in ensuring the continuity of university leadership in a transparent, orderly, and accountable manner.

The launch of this selection is set forth in Announcement Number 3/UN61/KP.05.02/2026/PPR concerning the Open Selection for the Election of the Rector of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta for the 2026–2030 Term. The announcement takes into account a number of applicable regulations, including provisions on the appointment and dismissal of leaders of state universities, the UPNVJ Statute, and UPNVJ Senate Regulation Number 02 of 2026 concerning the Procedures for the Election of the UPNVJ Rector for the 2026–2030 Term.

The Chairperson of the UPNVJ Rector Election Committee for the 2026–2030 Term, Silvia Anggraeni, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., stated in the announcement that the committee is inviting eligible Civil Servants with academic rank of at least Lektor Kepala (Associate Professor) to participate in the selection. Prospective candidates are also required to hold a doctoral degree, possess managerial experience, be in good physical and mental health, be free from narcotics, and satisfy a number of administrative and integrity requirements.

The required managerial experience includes a minimum position of Head of Department or an equivalent designation, or Head of Institution for at least two years at a state university. Alternatively, prospective candidates may hold a position no lower than a senior high-level official (pimpinan tinggi pratama) or an Echelon II.a official within a government institution.

Furthermore, prospective candidates must be no older than 60 years of age at the time the incumbent rector’s term of office concludes, must be willing to be nominated as UPNVJ Rector, must not be currently undertaking a study assignment or study leave of more than six months that would result in the abandonment of their duties under the Tri Dharma of higher education, and must not be currently serving a moderate or severe disciplinary sanction. Prospective candidates must also have no prior conviction resulting in imprisonment under a court decision that has acquired permanent legal force, and must never have committed plagiarism.

Registration is conducted online through the official UPNVJ website at www.upnvj.ac.id via the portal https://pilrek.upnvj.ac.id/. Prospective candidates are required to complete a registration form and upload supporting documents, including a nomination form, curriculum vitae, civil servant appointment decree, doctoral diploma, academic position decree of at least Lektor Kepala, proof of managerial experience, a certificate of physical and mental fitness, a certificate of freedom from narcotics, evidence of submission of the State Officials’ Wealth Report (LHKPN), and Employee Performance Appraisal (SKP) results rated at minimum “Good” for the two most recent years.

Prospective candidates from outside UPNVJ are required to attach a letter of permission from the leadership of their institution or agency of origin. They must also submit a number of statutory declarations, including willingness to be nominated as rector, a statement of never having committed plagiarism, a statement of non-withdrawal from the process, willingness to comply with all election rules and regulations, and willingness to work on a full-time basis.

In addition to online submission, registration documents may also be submitted directly to the Rector Election Committee or sent by post to the Secretariat of the Rector Election Committee at the Jenderal Sudirman Building, 3rd Floor, Meeting Room of the Bureau of Planning, Finance, and General Affairs, UPNVJ. The committee has designated Silvia Anggraeni and Suprima as contact persons for further information regarding registration procedures.

The UPNVJ Rector Election Process for the 2026–2030 Term will proceed through several phases. Following the registration period, the committee will conduct an administrative completeness review from 3–10 July 2026, after which the results will be submitted to the Senate from 10–13 July 2026. The formal determination of prospective rector candidates by the Senate is scheduled for 13–20 July 2026, while the announcement of the results of the prospective candidate screening is to be made no later than 22 July 2026.

The screening phase will continue with the presentation of the vision, mission, and work programmes of the prospective rector candidates at an open Senate meeting scheduled for 27–31 July 2026. During the same period, the Senate will conduct an assessment and determine three rector candidates in a closed Senate session. These three candidates will subsequently be submitted to the Minister from 3–5 August 2026.

The rector election phase is scheduled to take place through a closed Senate session on 7 or 9 September 2026. The formal appointment and inauguration of the UPNVJ Rector for the 2026–2030 Term will follow the schedule set by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.

The committee affirms that no fees of any kind will be charged to participants in the selection process. All official updates pertaining to the rector election will be communicated through the website www.upnvj.ac.id and the portal https://pilrek.upnvj.ac.id/. Candidates who fail to upload complete documentation will be declared ineligible and will not be processed further.
