EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, UPN Veteran Jakarta once again achieved national recognition through their participation in the 2026 Jambi Accounting Competition and Seminar National (JACSEN) 2026. In the competition organized by the Accounting Student Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business at University of Jambi, the team “Mamah Aku Juara” secured First Runner-Up in the National Accounting Olympiad category.

The competition, which culminated in the final round on May 9, 2026, carried the theme “Next-Gen Digital Accounting Excellence for a Sustainable Indonesian Economy.” The theme emphasized the importance of preparing the younger generation of accounting professionals to face digital transformation in support of Indonesia’s sustainable economic development.

The “Mamah Aku Juara” team consisted of three undergraduate Accounting students from the Class of 2023 at FEB UPNVJ: Syihab Rifqi Hadzami, Muhammad Iqbal Maulana, and Faradita Agustina Anggraini. The team successfully advanced through several challenging stages of the competition, which required strong academic competence, strategic thinking, and teamwork.

During the elimination round, participants were tested through multiple-choice questions focusing on speed and accuracy in analysis. The FEB UPNVJ team achieved second place and advanced to the semifinal stage. In the semifinal round, conducted online on March 7, 2026, participants were required to answer essay questions designed to assess conceptual understanding and analytical skills. The team secured fourth place, earning a spot in the final round.

In the final stage, the challenges became increasingly complex. Finalists were tasked with solving accounting case studies and presenting strategic solutions before a panel of judges. At this stage, communication skills, decision-making abilities, and team cohesion became essential assessment criteria.

One of the team members, Syihab Rifqi Hadzami, stated that their success was the result of consistent preparation and strong teamwork throughout the competition.

“We are truly grateful to have achieved First Runner-Up in JACSEN 2026. This competition provided us with valuable experience, particularly in developing critical thinking and teamwork skills. We believe this achievement would not have been possible without consistent preparation and the support of our lecturers, faculty, and fellow students at FEB UPNVJ,” he said.

JACSEN serves not only as an academic competition platform but also as a space for students to develop their capabilities in accounting, auditing, management, and contemporary financial issues. Through this competition, students are encouraged to strengthen their critical, analytical, and strategic thinking skills in facing the evolving challenges of the professional world.

The achievement earned by the “Mamah Aku Juara” team demonstrates that FEB UPNVJ students are capable of competing at the national level through academic excellence and a strong spirit of collaboration. The Rector of UPN Veteran Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, emphasized that students’ accomplishments in various national competitions reflect the university’s commitment to producing graduates who are excellent, adaptive, and capable of addressing the challenges of the digital transformation era.

According to him, this achievement reflects the successful synergy between students, lecturers, and the academic environment in fostering a healthy and productive competitive culture. He also expressed hope that this accomplishment would inspire other students to continue developing their potential, actively participate in competitions, and make meaningful contributions to both academic and professional fields.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
