EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has announced that it will provide a comprehensive, factual, and transparent explanation regarding the seven key issues raised in the testimony of Dinda Dinanti, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, during the judicial review hearing of Indonesia’s Law on Teachers and Lecturers before the Constitutional Court (Mahkamah Konstitusi/MK) on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. The clarification is being prepared as part of the university’s responsibility as a public institution to uphold transparency and ensure that issues concerning lecturers’ employment status, governance, and welfare are fully understood by the public.
UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm stated that the university respects the ongoing proceedings before the Constitutional Court. According to him, every concern expressed by members of the academic community should be viewed within the framework of transparency, constitutional due process, and constructive institutional evaluation.
“As a public institution, UPNVJ has an obligation to provide a thorough, factual, and transparent explanation. We want the public and the entire academic community to gain a clear, comprehensive, and accurate understanding of the issues so that misinformation and misunderstandings do not arise in the public sphere,” said Prof. Venus after delivering a university-level counseling orientation session for Batch 2 in Jakarta on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
Prof. Venus explained that UPNVJ’s internal team, together with the leadership of the Faculty of Law, has reviewed the testimony and identified seven key issues that require balanced and proportionate clarification. These include matters related to employment status, institutional governance, faculty career development and qualifications, lecturers’ welfare, and the policy framework applicable to public universities operating under the Public Service Agency (BLU) model.
To ensure that its clarification is comprehensive rather than partial, UPNVJ is currently consolidating all relevant data, employment records, administrative documents, and other supporting evidence. These materials will serve as the basis for the university’s official clarification, ensuring that the information presented to the public is well-founded, verifiable, and accountable.
“Our guiding principle is Good University Governance. Every policy and decision implemented by UPNVJ is grounded in government regulations, supported by verifiable data, backed by sound justification, and driven by good faith for the collective advancement of the institution. Once the data consolidation process is complete, we will present our explanation to the public,” Prof. Venus said.
UPNVJ emphasized that this initiative is not intended to create controversy, but rather to provide balanced information regarding the university’s institutional context, employment regulations, and the scope of its authority as a public university operating under the BLU governance framework. By presenting evidence-based information, the university hopes the public will gain a more comprehensive understanding of the issues instead of relying solely on fragmented information circulating across digital platforms.
The university also affirmed that human resource governance remains a key priority in its ongoing institutional transformation agenda. Continuous improvements are being pursued through the strengthening of administrative systems, enhancement of personnel services, and sustained coordination with the relevant ministries and stakeholders in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
“UPNVJ is committed to maintaining an academic environment that is healthy, scholarly, productive, transparent, and equitable. We regard every concern expressed by members of our academic community as valuable input for institutional improvement while remaining firmly committed to regulations, evidence-based decision-making, and the principles of good university governance,” he concluded.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
