EduAsiaNews, Riau – The Rector of Universitas Riau (UNRI), Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., attended the 80th Bhayangkara Day Commemoration Ceremony organized by the Riau Regional Police (Polda Riau) at the Parade Ground of the Riau Regional Police Headquarters, Jalan Pattimura No. 13, Pekanbaru, on Wednesday (July 1, 2026).
The Rector’s presence, alongside community leaders, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Riau Province, representatives of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), government agencies, university leaders, and various other stakeholders, reflected strong inter-institutional synergy in supporting the creation of regional security, public order, and stability.
The ceremony was conducted solemnly, with the Deputy Chief of the Riau Regional Police, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Hengki Haryadi, S.I.K., M.H., serving as the ceremony inspector. This year’s commemoration carried the theme, “80 Years of Service: The Indonesian National Police for the People,” reaffirming the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to continuously enhancing its dedication and public service.
In his address, the Deputy Chief of the Riau Regional Police stated that the theme serves as a reminder of the Indonesian National Police’s eight decades of dedicated service in maintaining public security, upholding the rule of law, and providing protection, guidance, and services to the community. He emphasized that the spirit of “80 Years of Service: The Indonesian National Police for the People” should inspire all members of the Police to further strengthen their professionalism, reinforce collaboration with all stakeholders, and deliver public services that are increasingly humane, precise, and responsive to the needs of society.
The ceremony proceeded in an orderly and dignified manner, marked by a strong sense of patriotism. It began with honors to the assembled personnel, followed by the reading of the ceremony inspector’s address and a series of tributes to police officers who have rendered outstanding service to the nation and the state.
The participation of the Rector of Universitas Riau in the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration reflects UNRI’s commitment to strengthening collaboration among higher education institutions, the government, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and all sectors of society in fostering a safe and conducive environment that supports educational advancement and regional development in Riau Province.
