Universitas Riau and BULOG Riau–Riau Islands Regional Office Strengthen Strategic Partnership through the Signing of an MoU and Cooperation Agreements

EduAsiaNews, Riau – Universitas Riau (Unri) and the Regional Office of Perum BULOG for Riau and the Riau Islands have formalized a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and several Cooperation Agreements (PKS). The signing ceremony took place at the Kunto Darussalam Meeting Room, Second Floor of the Universitas Riau Rectorate Building, on Thursday (June 25, 2026).

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Rector of Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., accompanied by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. Ir. Sofyan Husein Siregar, M.Phil., together with Dani Satrio, Head of Perum BULOG’s Riau and Riau Islands Regional Office.

This collaboration represents a concrete step toward strengthening the partnership between higher education and the national food industry, particularly in supporting the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, encompassing education, research, and community service.

In addition to the signing of the MoU between Universitas Riau and Perum BULOG’s Riau–Riau Islands Regional Office, several Cooperation Agreements were also signed involving academic support units and faculties within Universitas Riau. These included cooperation agreements between Perum BULOG’s Riau and Riau Islands Regional Office and the Academic Support Unit for Career Development and Entrepreneurship (UPA PKK), the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), the Faculty of Agriculture, and the Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Riau.

Rector Prof. Sri Indarti stated that the collaboration with Perum BULOG forms part of Universitas Riau’s ongoing efforts to expand its network of strategic partnerships with various stakeholders in order to strengthen the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in a more impactful and sustainable manner.

Meanwhile, Dani Satrio expressed his hope that the partnership would serve as a platform for fostering synergy between academia and industry, generating innovation, strengthening the competencies of the younger generation, and supporting Indonesia’s national food security agenda.
