EduAsiaNews, Semarang – From Thursday to Friday, July 25–26, 2019, a delegation from Universitas Pattimura (Unpatti), led by the Secretary of the Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM), visited the Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). The delegation, comprising Dr. Ir. Beni Setha, M.Si., Secretary of LPPM Unpatti, along with the Head of Administration and research management staff, was welcomed by Dr. Suwito Eko Pramono, M.Pd., Chair of LPPM UNNES.
The visit was part of the implementation of a cooperation agreement previously signed by the Rectors of Universitas Pattimura and Universitas Negeri Semarang. Universitas Pattimura had recently transitioned from a conventional government work unit (satker) to a Public Service Agency (BLU). This institutional transformation requires adjustments to its financial management system, including the administration of research activities, in line with practices adopted by universities that have long operated under the BLU framework.
Unpatti selected UNNES as its benchmarking partner because UNNES was ranked second nationally in BLU management, making it a leading reference for institutional governance and financial administration.
A major focus of the visit was the Research and Community Service Information System (SIPP) developed by UNNES. Since 2015, UNNES has utilized SIPP to manage research and community service activities funded through Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) allocations. The system operates in a manner similar to the national Simlitabmas platform while incorporating features specifically tailored to UNNES’ integrated information management framework. As all institutional information systems at the Conservation University are interconnected, research outputs are automatically integrated into each faculty member’s performance evaluation.
Dr. Ir. Beni Setha, M.Si. expressed his hope that Universitas Pattimura would soon adopt the SIPP platform developed by UNNES to strengthen the management of research and community service activities at the university in Ambon.
