EduAsiaNews, Padang – Universitas Andalas organized a pre-graduation briefing session titled “Building Sustainable Careers: Preparing Future-Ready Graduates” as part of its efforts to prepare students to face the continuously evolving challenges of the professional world in the digital era.

The event served not only as a preparatory session ahead of the graduation ceremony, but also as a reminder for students that success after graduation is determined not merely by academic degrees, but by the ability to continuously learn, adapt, and persevere amid changing times.

The Director of Student Affairs at UNAND, Dr. Eng. Dendi Adi Saputra, emphasized that a diploma is not the ultimate goal of education.

“A diploma is not the main objective. It is merely an entry ticket to enter the workforce after graduating from university,” he stated on Wednesday, May 6, at the Auditorium of the Limau Manis Campus.

According to him, students who are growing up in an era of rapid technological advancement and digitalization must possess strong mental readiness and a high level of adaptability. He noted that today’s professional world presents challenges that are far different from those encountered in the classroom.

“There is no final point in the learning process. If you fall, rise again. Those who are able to survive are the ones who can quickly adapt to changes in the world,” he said.

He also reminded prospective graduates not to hesitate to learn new things and not to become trapped in comparing themselves to others.

“Hopefully, this briefing serves as a reminder that there are still many paths ahead of us. Do not be preoccupied with comparing yourself to others; continue learning and remain open to new experiences,” he added.

During the event, UNAND also invited Adil Driouech, CEO and Founder of Ventureslink, who shared insights on global challenges, future competency demands, and the importance of developing communication skills, networking abilities, and an adaptive mindset among young generations.

In addition to the career briefing, Universitas Andalas also reminded graduates to complete the tracer study questionnaire as part of the university’s evaluation of graduate outcomes in the workforce. Tracer study data serves as an important instrument for the university in assessing curriculum relevance to industry needs, graduate employment waiting periods, and future educational quality development.

Through this activity, UNAND hopes that its graduates will not only become academically accomplished scholars, but also resilient, adaptive, and globally prepared individuals who are ready to face future challenges as future-ready graduates.
