EduAsiaNews, Bangka – Universitas Bangka Belitung (UBB) and Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang (UNSIKA) have officially strengthened their institutional partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Betason I Meeting Room, Rectorate Building of Universitas Bangka Belitung, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. The agreement marks a strategic step by both universities to enhance the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education while improving the quality of higher education through sustainable collaboration.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Hamsani, S.E., M.Sc., Vice Rector for Planning, Information Systems, and Cooperation of UBB, and Yayat Hendayana, S.S., M.Si., Head of the Bureau of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang.
The signing ceremony was attended by Hesty, S.Si., M.Pd., Head of the Bureau of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation of UBB; Erry Gusnawan, S.E., M.M., Head of the Bureau of Planning, Finance, Human Resources, and General Affairs of UBB; Suhaidar, S.E., M.Si., Head of the UBB Library Service Unit; Irawati Surjana, S.Sos., M.M., Head of the UNSIKA Library Service Unit; Anna Rosmarina M., S.IP., M.I.Kom., Head of the Cooperation and Public Relations Team of UNSIKA; along with officials and representatives from both institutions.
In his remarks, Dr. Hamsani emphasized that collaboration among higher education institutions is essential for addressing the increasingly dynamic challenges facing the sector. He noted that institutional partnerships provide opportunities to strengthen organizational capacity through the exchange of knowledge, experience, and innovation that ultimately benefits society.
“We expect this Memorandum of Understanding to deliver tangible benefits for both institutions through complementary and mutually supportive collaboration. UNSIKA has nine faculties, while UBB has six. The strengths of each university provide a solid foundation for collaboration in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Therefore, this partnership is not merely ceremonial but represents a shared commitment to developing programs that enhance the quality of education, research, community service, and human resource development,” Dr. Hamsani said.
Meanwhile, Yayat Hendayana expressed his appreciation for the establishment of the partnership between Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang and Universitas Bangka Belitung. According to him, collaboration among public universities is a strategic means of expanding academic networks, improving the quality of higher education, and fostering innovations that benefit society.
The scope of the collaboration includes education and teaching, collaborative research, community service, scientific publications, human resource development, strengthening library governance, and other initiatives that support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
As a follow-up to the MoU, Suhaidar, S.E., M.Si., Head of the UBB Library Service Unit, and Irawati Surjana, S.Sos., M.M., Head of the UNSIKA Library Service Unit, also signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) and an Implementation Agreement (IA). These agreements formalize both institutions’ commitment to implementing collaborative programs, particularly in library development, information service enhancement, human resource capacity building, and the effective utilization of library technologies and resources.
The partnership is expected to strengthen the institutional capacity of both universities, enhance their competitiveness, and generate innovations that contribute meaningfully to national development. For UBB, the collaboration also represents an important step in expanding its strategic partnerships with universities across Indonesia to support the transformation of higher education into a more excellent, adaptive, and globally competitive system.
