
EduAsiaNews, Riau — As a manifestation of synergy between higher education institutions and the government, Universitas Riau (Unri) held a public lecture featuring the Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Hanif Faisal Nurofiq, S.Hut., M.P.
The event took place on Thursday (April 30) at the Student Center Building of Unri under the theme “Government Priority Policies in the Food Sector.”
In her remarks, the Rector of Unri, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., stated that the public lecture served as a strategic momentum for the university to strengthen national insight, particularly on issues of food security, food sovereignty, downstreaming of the agricultural sector, as well as the challenges and opportunities in future national food development.
“This public lecture represents a form of synergy between higher education institutions and the government in generating ideas, innovations, and concrete actions to achieve sustainable food security,” said the Rector.
Furthermore, Prof. Sri Indarti expressed hope that students participating in the lecture would not only gain direct knowledge from national policymakers but also acquire inspiration, strategic perspectives, and motivation to take part in the development of Indonesia’s food sector.
The discussion and question-and-answer session was moderated by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mexasai Indra, S.H., M.H.
The event was also attended by members of the university leadership, including Vice Rectors, Deans, and Heads of Units and Institutions. Approximately 1,100 students from various faculties within Unri participated in the activity.
