EduAsiaNews, Jember – The registration deadline for the 2026 Independent New Student Admission Selection (SEMMABA) Achievement Track at the University of Jember (UNEJ) is fast approaching.
Prospective students seeking admission through this pathway are reminded that the official registration portal will close on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. WIB. To avoid potential system failures caused by a surge in traffic, applicants are strongly encouraged to complete and finalize all registration requirements well before the deadline. Delaying the process until the final hours is highly discouraged. This deadline is particularly important for high-achieving students aiming to secure a place in distinguished study programs with global recognition.
Coinciding with the closing period of registration, the remaining application window represents a final golden opportunity for prospective students to secure admission to UNEJ’s Electrical Engineering Study Program. The program has recently earned international accreditation from the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE). This prestigious achievement places UNEJ Electrical Engineering on par with leading universities in East Java, including Brawijaya University and Malang State University, in terms of globally recognized engineering education quality assurance.
Head of the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, University of Jember, Dr. Ir. Widjonarko, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng.
Responding to the approaching SEMMABA registration deadline, Electrical Engineering Program Coordinator Dr. Ir. Widjonarko, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., urged eligible students to complete their applications and finalize all required documents before the registration system is automatically closed.
“We have established a globally oriented learning ecosystem. With only a limited time remaining before the closure of the Achievement Track registration on May 28, we hope that the best talents from across Indonesia will confidently choose and join UNEJ Electrical Engineering, whose graduates have already earned recognition from international industries for their professional competence,” he stated.
The admission pathway is intended for students eligible for the 2026 National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), with a maximum age of 25 years as of July 1, 2026. Selection will be based on cumulative academic performance from semesters one through five, as well as academic and non-academic achievements in sports, arts, and science and technology competitions at the district, provincial, national, and international levels. Certificates obtained through competitions officially organized by UNEJ or other reputable institutions will also contribute to the assessment. For team-based achievements, active participation by all team members must be demonstrated.

To support the implementation of its globally oriented curriculum, Electrical Engineering students are encouraged to actively participate in research projects and applied technology innovation initiatives. This approach aligns with the program’s strong graduate employability record. Widjonarko emphasized that the program benefits from a broad and well-connected alumni network, creating valuable opportunities for fresh graduates to enter the workforce and compete internationally.
“We consistently encourage our alumni to maintain strong professional and personal connections. These networks serve as a bridge for both students and graduates, opening opportunities for employment in international companies,” he explained.

The achievement of international IABEE accreditation, coinciding with the final days of SEMMABA registration, is expected to help prospective students make informed, confident, and well-considered decisions before the registration portal officially closes.
“We have three key strengths. First, we have achieved the highest national accreditation status, ‘Excellent,’ from the Engineering Accreditation Agency (LAM Teknik), along with international accreditation from IABEE. Second, our graduates are highly competitive and have proven their capabilities in the industry, earning the trust of employers. Third, our learning system fosters strong interaction between lecturers and students, enabling deeper understanding and mastery of the discipline,” he concluded.
