EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) conducted a Media Visit and initiated a collaboration discussion with B Universe on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Berita Satu Universe Digital Office. The activity was attended by 46 students from the Communication Science Study Program enrolled in the Media and Journalism course.
The event was also attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, Dr. Azwar, along with Communication Science lecturer Marina Rospitasari. This media visit formed part of FISIP UPN “Veteran” Jakarta’s efforts to strengthen practice-based learning while introducing students directly to the media industry.
In his remarks, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UPN “Veteran” Jakarta stated that the company visit aimed to help students understand the real dynamics of the media industry, particularly in the rapidly evolving digital era.
“At the Communication Science Study Program, FISIP UPN ‘Veteran’ Jakarta, learning activities are not limited to classroom sessions, but are also conducted in the laboratories available at FISIP. Furthermore, we bring students directly into the industry to help them better understand the current media ecosystem,” he stated.
In addition to serving as a learning opportunity, the visit was also utilized as an initial step toward exploring potential collaboration between FISIP UPN “Veteran” Jakarta and B Universe in supporting the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi), particularly in the areas of education, research, and community service.
During the discussion session, students received presentations regarding developments in the digital media industry, the challenges of modern journalism, and the transformation of information technology that continues to influence media work patterns today.
Syukri Rahmatullah, Editor in Chief of BeritaSatu.com, which is part of the B Universe media business ecosystem, stated that digital transformation has significantly changed many aspects of the media industry.
“The times are changing, and therefore the media industry must also be able to adapt to those changes,” said Syukri Rahmatullah.
Through this activity, it is expected that Communication Science students of FISIP UPN “Veteran” Jakarta will gain practical experience and new insights into the digital media ecosystem, enabling them to better prepare for the challenges of future careers in the communication and journalism industries.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
