EduAsiaNews, Bogor – The Department of Islamic Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), IPB University, welcomed Prof. Mansor H. Ibrahim, Deputy President (Academic) and Dean of the School of Graduate Studies at INCEIF University, Malaysia, as part of its Visiting Professor program.
The program also marked the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between IPB University and INCEIF University to explore various forms of academic collaboration, including the potential development of a dual degree program for the Master’s Program in Islamic Economics at IPB University.
Over the course of five days, Prof. Mansor shared his expertise through a series of activities, including a public lecture, research methods workshop, academic writing workshop, publication workshop, research clinic, curriculum development discussions, and institutional engagement sessions. The program was attended by faculty members, researchers, postgraduate students, practitioners, and approximately 50 participants from various universities and institutions.
“I am truly grateful for this invitation. Although I have visited Indonesia several times before, this is my first visit to Bogor and IPB University. Thank you very much for the warm welcome and the kindness extended to me throughout my stay,” said Prof. Mansor.
As a scholar specializing in monetary economics, banking, and Islamic finance, Prof. Mansor has extensive experience as a researcher, journal editor, international peer reviewer, and speaker at global academic forums. Through a series of interactive sessions, he shared insights into developments in Islamic economics and finance, research methodologies, strategies for publishing in international scientific journals, and the development of collaborative academic networks.
Dr. Khalifah M. Ali, Chair of the Department of Islamic Economics at IPB University, expressed his hope that the program would serve as the foundation for broader institutional collaboration.
“We hope this program will mark the beginning of sustainable academic collaboration, not only between IPB University and INCEIF University, but also with other universities and institutions committed to advancing Islamic economics and finance. Through collaborations such as this, we aim to build an academic ecosystem capable of producing relevant, high-quality research that delivers meaningful benefits to society,” he said.
Commenting on the signing of the LoI, Prof. Mansor stated:
“This signing reflects our shared commitment to advancing academic excellence through international collaboration. I hope this partnership will evolve into a range of meaningful initiatives that benefit both institutions, our students, and the broader academic community.”
Through this collaboration, IPB University and INCEIF University are opening opportunities to expand cooperation in education, research, scientific publications, and faculty and student mobility, with the goal of strengthening the development of Islamic economics and finance at both the national and international levels.
