EduAsiaNews, Semarang – The inauguration of Twin Tower 1 at the Pleburan Campus of Diponegoro University (UNDIP) Vocational School marks the introduction of a new learning environment designed to support vocational education that is more modern, collaborative, and responsive to the evolving needs of industry. Beyond serving as a new academic building, Twin Tower 1 offers a wide range of facilities aimed at creating a more comfortable learning experience while fostering student innovation.
As the academic hub of the Vocational School, Twin Tower 1 integrates classrooms, laboratories, academic service offices, faculty workspaces, a library, and student organization facilities within a single vertical complex. This integrated design enables members of the academic community to access essential learning resources more efficiently while encouraging collaboration among students, lecturers, and industry partners.
The classrooms are designed as smart classrooms that support interactive and technology-enhanced learning. Equipped with modern layouts and digital learning facilities, they provide lecturers with the flexibility to implement various teaching approaches, including project-based learning, group discussions, presentations, and case-based learning—all of which are hallmarks of vocational education.
Serving as an extension of the classroom, the ninth floor features a library and collaborative learning spaces designed to facilitate discussion, teamwork, and the exchange of ideas. These areas are intended to provide students with productive spaces for completing projects, collaborating across study programs, preparing for competitions, and developing innovative ideas alongside lecturers and peers.
Academic activities are further supported by an integrated service center. Faculty offices, academic administrative services, and departmental management offices are located within the same area, making academic coordination, student consultations, and administrative services more efficient.
To promote student leadership and character development, Twin Tower 1 also includes dedicated spaces for student associations. These facilities are expected to serve as hubs for student organizations, enabling them to organize programs, activities, and collaborative initiatives that strengthen leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
Meanwhile, the 14th floor functions as a multipurpose hall that can accommodate seminars, training programs, public lectures, conferences, and collaborative events with industry partners. The availability of this multifunctional venue further reinforces the Vocational School’s role in building partnerships with businesses, industries, government institutions, and international collaborators.
In addition to its academic functions, Twin Tower 1 has been designed with a strong emphasis on comfort and inclusivity. The building is equipped with accessible restrooms on every floor, lactation rooms, prayer rooms on every even-numbered floor, three passenger elevators and one freight elevator, emergency evacuation routes, balcony areas, and open communal spaces, creating a comfortable and inclusive learning environment for the entire academic community.
These facilities reflect the UNDIP Vocational School’s commitment to providing a learning environment that supports the comprehensive development of students’ competencies. Twin Tower 1 is expected not only to enhance the quality of teaching and learning but also to strengthen a culture of collaboration, innovation, and creativity, preparing students to meet the demands of the future workforce and industry.
Through Twin Tower 1, the Diponegoro University Vocational School continues to advance its vision of becoming a World-Class Vocational School by providing modern, sustainable learning facilities that are aligned with professional needs and technological advancement.
