EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta commemorated its 31st Anniversary (Dies Natalis) by organizing a series of academic and reflective events on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the FIK UPNVJ Building. This year’s celebration was marked by the handover of the History Book of the Faculty of Computer Science to the Rector of UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, as well as the launch of FIK Fair 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen a culture of innovation and collaboration within the university environment.

The handover of the history book symbolized the long journey of FIK UPNVJ in advancing higher education in the fields of computer science, information technology, and digital transformation. The book documents the faculty’s development since its establishment, highlighting its academic achievements, research contributions, and community service initiatives over the past three decades.

In addition, the launch of FIK Fair 2026 marked the beginning of the faculty’s annual series of activities aimed at fostering collaboration among the academic community, industry partners, communities, and society at large. FIK Fair 2026 is designed as a platform for the development of technological innovation, student creativity, professional networking, and the promotion of research and projects based on digital technology.

In his remarks, the Rector of UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, expressed his appreciation for the Faculty of Computer Science’s contributions to the advancement of the university, particularly in developing high-quality human resources in the era of digital transformation.

“The 31-year journey of the Faculty of Computer Science reflects its consistency and commitment in producing outstanding human resources in the fields of technology and digital innovation. This history book is not merely a documentation of the institution’s journey, but also a reflection of the spirit of innovation and dedication that must continue to be passed on to future generations,” said Prof. Anter Venus.

He further stated that the rapid development of technology and artificial intelligence requires higher education institutions to remain adaptive, innovative, and responsive to the needs of society and industry. According to him, FIK UPNVJ holds a strategic position in supporting the university’s vision of becoming an excellent and impactful institution.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Ir. Supriyanto, emphasized that the 31st Anniversary serves as both a moment of reflection and a foundation for strengthening the faculty’s transformation into a competitive higher education institution at both national and global levels.

“The 31st Anniversary serves as both a reflection on our journey and a foundation for continued innovation. Through the handover of the FIK history book and the launch of FIK Fair 2026, we aim to strengthen our identity, academic culture, and collaborative spirit in addressing the challenges of the digital and artificial intelligence era,” stated Prof. Supriyanto.

He also highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in building a technology education ecosystem that is relevant to future needs. According to him, strengthening innovation and synergy with industry partners is an essential part of enhancing the competitiveness of FIK UPNVJ graduates.

The series of activities commemorating the 31st Anniversary was carried out with great enthusiasm and attended by members of the academic community, lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, and invited guests.
