EduAsiaNews, Purwokerto — The Diploma III Program in Mandarin Language at the Faculty of Humanities (FIB), Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed), has once again sent students to participate in its International Internship Program in Taiwan. The departure of the second cohort on Sunday, August 2, 2026, reflects FIB Unsoed’s commitment to providing experiential learning through international workplace exposure while enhancing graduates’ global competitiveness.
The students will undertake a two-semester, one-year internship at several renowned hotels and resorts in Taiwan, including Chateau Beach Resort Kenting, Aloft Taipei Beitou, Queena Plaza Hotel Tainan, Caesar Park Hotel Kenting, Crowne Plaza Tainan, H Resort Taiwan, and Howard Beach Resort Kenting – Chateau Anping. The program is part of the vocational curriculum, integrating classroom learning with hands-on professional experience in the international hospitality industry.
The Coordinator of the Diploma III Program in Mandarin Language at FIB Unsoed, Destyanisa Tazkiyah, B.Ed., M.S., explained that the international internship program is designed to equip students not only with Mandarin language proficiency but also with the professional competencies required in the global workforce.
“Through this program, students have the opportunity to apply the competencies they have acquired during their studies in a real-world professional environment. They will interact with the international community, gain an understanding of Taiwan’s workplace culture, and develop essential soft skills such as communication, discipline, responsibility, and adaptability. This experience will become a significant added value as they prepare to enter the global job market,” she said.
According to her, the opportunity to study and work abroad is an essential component of vocational education. In addition to improving language proficiency, the program is expected to broaden students’ international perspectives, expand their professional networks, and strengthen their confidence in competing in the global employment market.
Prior to their departure, all participants completed a comprehensive pre-departure training program covering Mandarin language enhancement, professional communication in the hospitality industry, workplace ethics, an introduction to Taiwan’s work culture, and mental preparedness for the internship experience. The training was designed to ensure that students are well prepared to adapt to an international working environment and perform to the highest professional standards.
The International Internship Program represents one of the key initiatives supporting FIB Unsoed’s internationalization strategy through partnerships with overseas industry partners. The program provides students with valuable opportunities to strengthen both their academic knowledge and professional competencies while gaining firsthand experience with international hospitality service standards.
The internship program is being implemented in phases. The first cohort departed on July 1, 2026, the second cohort on August 2, 2026, while the third cohort is scheduled to depart on August 6, 2026. Through the deployment of these three cohorts, FIB Unsoed hopes that all participants will uphold the university’s reputation, successfully complete their internships, and return to Indonesia equipped with valuable international experience, professional skills, and a global perspective that will contribute to their future careers and to the development of Indonesia’s human capital.
