Riau University Concludes PKKMB 2026, 7,555 New Students Showcase 10 Papermob Formations

EduAsiaNews, Riau – Riau University (Unri) officially concluded its 2026 Orientation Program for New Students (PKKMB) during a closing ceremony held at the Open Space of the Bina Widya Campus on Saturday (August 1, 2026). The event concluded on a festive note with a papermob performance by the new students, featuring 10 dynamic formations that symbolized the spirit, unity, and creativity of Unri’s newest generation.

The 2026 PKKMB was attended by 7,555 new students from all 10 faculties at Riau University. The four-day orientation program, held from July 29 to August 1, 2026, featured a variety of sessions designed to introduce students to university life, strengthen character development, foster national awareness, promote campus culture, and familiarize participants with student support services.

In his closing remarks, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni of Riau University, Prof. Dr. Hermandra, M.A., emphasized that PKKMB is far more than a ceremonial welcome for new students. Instead, it serves as the first step in cultivating the character, integrity, and academic culture that will shape students throughout their studies at Riau University.

“PKKMB is the gateway for students to understand the core values of Riau University. We hope that all new students will adapt well to the campus environment, uphold academic ethics, develop their potential, and become accomplished, principled individuals who are ready to contribute to society,” said Prof. Hermandra.

He also expressed the university leadership’s appreciation for the successful implementation of this year’s PKKMB, noting that it was the result of the collective efforts of university leaders, faculty members, administrative staff, organizing committees, volunteers, and student organizations in creating an educational, safe, and enjoyable orientation experience.

The closing ceremony became even more vibrant as thousands of new students performed a papermob presentation featuring 10 coordinated formations, representing unity, creativity, and their shared commitment to grow together as members of the Riau University community.

With the conclusion of the 2026 PKKMB, Riau University is optimistic that the Class of 2026 will become a generation of adaptive, innovative, and socially responsible learners who will contribute to realizing the university’s vision of becoming a leading higher education institution at both the national and international levels.
