She earned the title during the grand final of the Abang and None Jakarta Barat 2026 competition, held at the Pullman Jakarta Central Park Hotel Ballroom on Friday (17 July 2026). The achievement highlights UPNVJ students’ excellence in academic development, leadership, public communication, and commitment to promoting Jakarta’s culture and tourism.

Berlian secured the title after successfully completing a selection process and intensive training program that lasted for more than a month. The initial selection involved 128 participants, comprising 50 Abang and 78 None candidates. From this pool, 30 finalists (15 pairs) were selected to undergo an intensive training program from 8 June to 17 July 2026.

Throughout the training, finalists received instruction on government affairs, tourism, Betawi culture, ethics, and public speaking. The program was designed to prepare young ambassadors capable of promoting Jakarta’s tourism and creative economy while contributing to the preservation of Betawi cultural heritage.

Expressing her gratitude, Berlian described the achievement as the result of perseverance, consistency, and a willingness to keep learning throughout every stage of the competition.

“I am truly grateful and honored to be entrusted as the First Runner-Up of None Jakarta Barat 2026. This journey has taught me that hard work, consistency, and the courage to keep learning are the keys to achieving our dreams,” Berlian said on Monday (20 July 2026).

She also expressed her commitment to fulfilling her responsibilities while representing both West Jakarta and UPNVJ through meaningful community-oriented initiatives.

“I hope to uphold the good name of West Jakarta and UPN Veteran Jakarta while making meaningful contributions through programs that create a positive impact on society,” she said.

As a Communication Studies student, Berlian has demonstrated strong public communication skills, confidence, and the ability to effectively convey ideas. Her participation in the Abang and None competition also broadened her understanding of culture, tourism, government, and community issues in West Jakarta.

The winners of Abang and None Jakarta Barat 2026 will serve as tourism and cultural ambassadors, partnering with the local government to promote West Jakarta’s tourism potential, preserve Betawi cultural heritage, and support various development and creative economy initiatives.

UPNVJ commended Berlian’s accomplishment as part of the university’s growing record of student achievements beyond academics. The university remains committed to providing opportunities and support for students to develop their potential, leadership, character, and capacity to contribute to society.

The achievement also reflects the commitment of UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm. to strengthening student excellence. Student accomplishments in sports, arts, business, technology, culture, and community engagement play an important role in enhancing the university’s reputation while producing graduates who are outstanding, adaptable, and embody the values of State Defense (Bela Negara).
