EduAsiaNews, Ambon – The Graduate School of Pattimura University officially launched its 22nd Anniversary (Dies Natalis) celebration on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the courtyard of the Graduate School Building.

In his opening remarks, Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs of Pattimura University, Prof. Dr. Pieter Kakisina, S.Pd., M.Si., emphasized the Graduate School’s strategic role as a center for academic resource development that contributes to creating a university with a meaningful impact on society.

Prof. Kakisina stated that the Graduate School’s achievements are the result of the dedication and hard work of its founders, university leaders, faculty members, administrative staff, students, alumni, and all stakeholders who have contributed to its development since its establishment.

He also expressed appreciation for the commitment of the institution’s pioneers, who laid the foundation for the Graduate School despite various challenges and limitations. Thanks to their dedication, the Graduate School has continued to expand through the establishment of additional master’s and doctoral programs, further strengthening Pattimura University’s academic capacity.

“The Graduate School has demonstrated remarkable progress. The presence of various master’s and doctoral programs has become a key strength in enhancing the quality of human resources and supporting the overall development of Pattimura University,” he said.

On the occasion, Prof. Kakisina underscored the importance of accountable financial governance and strict compliance with applicable regulations. He urged all academic and administrative leaders to ensure that every aspect of budget management, including honorarium payments, is carried out carefully in accordance with prevailing regulations to ensure accountability during audit processes.

He further noted that the formulation of internal regulations, including the Rector’s Regulation on Standard Input Costs (SBM), serves as an essential foundation for strengthening financial administration while providing legal certainty for the implementation of academic activities across the university.

Prof. Kakisina also highlighted the evolving landscape of national public financial management, which requires higher education institutions to adapt by improving the effectiveness and efficiency of their planning and budget management practices.

Furthermore, he referred to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology’s Impactful Higher Education and Science (Dikti Saintek Berdampak) initiative, which emphasizes that all university activities should generate tangible benefits for society.

According to him, the implementation of this policy should be measured not only by academic achievements but also by the social, economic, and environmental impacts generated through education, research, community engagement, and institutional development.

Concluding his remarks, Prof. Kakisina expressed hope that the 22nd Anniversary celebration would serve as a momentum to strengthen collaboration, enhance academic and institutional governance, and encourage innovations, research, and community service initiatives aligned with the vision of Dikti Saintek Berdampak, enabling the Graduate School to continue serving as a driving force behind Pattimura University’s progress at the regional, national, and international levels.

During the same event, Director of the Graduate School, Prof. Dr. Richard Luhulima, S.T., M.T., announced that this year’s anniversary carries the theme:

“Pattimura University Graduate School as a Driver of Collaborative Innovation toward a Sustainable and Impactful Golden Indonesia 2045.”

Prof. Luhulima explained that the theme reflects the Graduate School’s commitment to producing innovations that are not only academically excellent but also deliver tangible benefits for community, regional, and national development.

The Graduate School is committed to expanding partnerships with faculties, research institutions, government agencies, industry, businesses, and other strategic partners to enhance the quality of education, research, and community service.
