EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), through its Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), has intensified preparations for the LAMSPAK On-Site Accreditation Assessment for the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program. The preparation activities are being conducted from Tuesday to Thursday, July 7–9, 2026, at the FISIP UPNVJ Auditorium. These preparations are intended to ensure that all required documents, supporting evidence, facilities, and the academic team’s readiness fully comply with external quality assurance standards. Through this accreditation process, the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program aims to achieve Excellent Accreditation.

The on-site assessment represents a crucial stage in the study program accreditation process, serving to evaluate the consistency between the self-evaluation report, academic performance, institutional governance, and the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi). For the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program at FISIP UPNVJ, the assessment also provides an opportunity to strengthen the governance of political science education in response to evolving social dynamics, democracy, public policy, and societal needs.

Dean of FISIP UPNVJ, Dr. S. Bekti Istiyanto, M.Si., stated that preparations for the on-site assessment have been carried out comprehensively, involving university and faculty leaders, academic staff, administrative personnel, students, alumni, and graduate employers. According to him, the accreditation process is not merely an administrative requirement but also reflects the faculty’s commitment to ensuring the consistent and sustainable delivery of high-quality education.

“For us, this on-site assessment is more than simply an evaluation process; it is an opportunity for reflection on the extent to which the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program has successfully implemented academic quality standards in practice. We aim to demonstrate that FISIP UPNVJ is fully prepared in every aspect, including curriculum development, faculty resources, institutional governance, student services, collaborative partnerships, and the contributions of our graduates to society,” Bekti stated.

He added that the pursuit of Excellent Accreditation serves as a driving force for the entire FISIP academic community to further strengthen its culture of quality.

“We hope this assessment visit will produce the best possible outcome for the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program. More importantly, however, this entire process forms part of our ongoing commitment to developing a study program that is increasingly relevant, adaptive, and impactful for students, graduates, and stakeholders,” he said.

The preparation activities involved representatives from both the university and faculty leadership, including UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Henry Binsar Hamonangan Sitorus, S.T., M.T., representatives from the Institute for Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LPMPP), the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), FISIP leadership, department heads, study program coordinators, faculty members, quality assurance units, and administrative staff. This broad institutional participation demonstrates that accreditation is not solely the responsibility of an individual study program but rather a collective institutional effort to uphold the quality of higher education.

The Coordinator of the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program, Restu Rahmawati, S.IP., M.A., together with her team, has prepared all aspects required for the assessment, including document mapping, strengthening academic data, presentation readiness, and technical coordination for the assessment visit. These preparations are intended to provide the assessors with a comprehensive understanding of the study program’s profile, achievements, strengths, and future development plans.

According to the program’s Terms of Reference, the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program at FISIP UPNVJ emphasizes that LAMSPAK accreditation serves as formal recognition of the quality and educational standards implemented by the program. Accreditation is also regarded as a strategic instrument for strengthening public confidence among stakeholders, graduate employers, and prospective students regarding the quality of education provided by the university.

Beyond its administrative dimensions, the on-site assessment also functions as an opportunity to evaluate the program’s readiness to address various challenges, including curriculum renewal, human resource development, enhancement of educational facilities and infrastructure, and the expansion of partnerships with relevant institutions. Accordingly, the accreditation process extends beyond document evaluation and becomes an integral component of a sustainable quality culture.

From the perspective of university policy, UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm. regards the strengthening of study program accreditation as a key element of the university’s commitment to developing high-quality, adaptive, and impactful academic governance. The preparations for the LAMSPAK on-site assessment of the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program demonstrate UPNVJ’s ongoing efforts to enhance its academic reputation, strengthen public trust, and ensure that its graduates possess competencies aligned with the nation’s evolving needs.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
