EduAsiaNews, Lampung — Rector of Universitas Lampung (Unila), Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, D.E.A., IPM., ASEAN Eng., attended the 33rd National Family Day (Harganas) Commemoration in 2026, which was also attended by Lampung Vice Governor Dr. Hj. Jihan Nurlela, M.M., Head of the Lampung Provincial Representative Office of the Ministry of Population and Family Development/Indonesian Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), Soetriningsih, S.Sos., M.Si., along with regional government officials and other invited guests.

The event was held on Thursday, 2 July 2026, at the Office of the Ministry of Population and Family Development/BKKBN Lampung Provincial Representative Office in North Teluk Betung, Bandar Lampung.

In her opening remarks, Soetriningsih presented the organizers’ report, stating that the 2026 National Family Day Commemoration was conducted in accordance with Circular Letter No. 16 of 2026 issued by the Minister of Population and Family Development/Head of BKKBN.

“The family is the most fundamental environment for shaping the character of the nation. Successful child-rearing is not solely the responsibility of mothers. Therefore, this year’s commemoration carries the theme ‘Fathers Must Be Present,'” said the Head of the BKKBN Lampung Provincial Representative Office.

The National Family Day Commemoration serves to remind the public of the vital role of the family as the primary foundation for nation-building.

In her remarks, Dr. Hj. Jihan Nurlela, M.M. emphasized that the home is of profound importance because it is defined as a place to return to and a place of refuge—and that place is the family.

Looking ahead, she expressed hope that the government would continue strengthening family resilience as part of its efforts to develop productive, resilient, and globally competitive Indonesian human resources, thereby preparing the nation for future challenges.
