This graduation ceremony marked the emergence of a new generation of graduates prepared to contribute across various sectors. Of the total graduates, 23 earned the distinction of summa cum laude, while 1,134 graduated with cum laude honors.

The Faculty of Education (FIP) graduated 282 students, the Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Culture (FBSB) 238 students, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) 221 students, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) 148 students, the Faculty of Engineering (FT) 169 students, the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences (FIKK) 117 students, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) 133 students, the Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) 218 students, the Faculty of Psychology (FP) 31 students, and the Graduate School (SPs) 17 students.

Meanwhile, the highest academic honors at the doctoral and master’s levels were achieved by Dr. Musa Hefer Smas and Risma Qurrotu A’yun, respectively, both graduating with a perfect GPA of 4.00.

In addition to their academic excellence, the graduates also demonstrated outstanding achievements throughout their studies. UNY students earned a total of 855 awards at international, national, and university levels. These accomplishments spanned various fields, including academic competitions, arts, sports, and special-interest activities.

UNY Rector, Prof. Sumaryanto, extended his congratulations to all graduates and expressed his hope that the knowledge and skills they acquired during their studies would benefit society, the nation, and the state. He also encouraged graduates to pursue further education at the master’s and doctoral levels.

“This year, beginning with the August academic intake, UNY will introduce a fast-track program in which undergraduate students will not necessarily need to complete their bachelor’s studies before directly enrolling in a master’s program,” he explained.

A similar scheme will also be available for master’s students progressing to doctoral studies. This initiative is expected to shorten the time required to complete advanced degrees. According to the Rector, such measures are aligned with the demands of global competition, where success depends not only on cognitive, psychomotor, and academic competencies, but more importantly on the development of emotional and spiritual intelligence within the affective domain.

With this conferment, the 1,574 graduates officially join the extensive UNY alumni community and are expected to uphold the values of professionalism, integrity, and social responsibility in their contributions to society.
