University of Bangka Belitung Graduate School Open House Introduces Distinguished Master’s Programs to the Public

EduAsiaNews, Bangka — The University of Bangka Belitung (UBB) held a Graduate School Open House as a platform for socializing and promoting its master’s programs to government agencies, the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), state-owned enterprises, alumni, civil servants, practitioners, the general public, and prospective students seeking to pursue postgraduate studies.

The event took place at the Balai Besar Peradaban, UBB Rectorate Building, on Thursday (11/6/2026), featuring three distinguished study programs: the Master of Management (MM), Master of Law (MH), and Master of Agricultural Science (MIP).

The event aimed to provide comprehensive information regarding the profile of each study program, curriculum, learning facilities, graduate prospects, and new student admission procedures. Nearly 100 attendees were also given the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with study program coordinators and lecturers to gain a closer understanding of the learning experience and career development opportunities available through postgraduate education at UBB.

The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at UBB, Prof. Dr. Devi Valeriani, M.Si., conveyed that postgraduate education plays a strategic role in enhancing the quality of human resources amid increasingly complex development challenges. She noted that UBB remains committed to delivering education that is relevant to the needs of the workforce, government, and industry.”Through this Open House, we wish to provide the public with a more comprehensive picture of the quality and opportunities offered by UBB’s postgraduate programs. In addition, UBB is also preparing to launch a doctoral (S3) program in the near future,” said Prof. Devi.

During the presentation session, each study program elaborated on its respective strengths and characteristics. The Coordinator of the Master of Management Program, Prof. Dr. Reniati, S.E., M.Si., explained that the program is designed to strengthen competencies in applied management, leadership, strategic decision-making, and innovation-based organizational management. UBB’s Master of Management program has currently attained a “Very Good” accreditation status and continues to develop adaptive learning in response to technological advancements and the evolving dynamics of the business world.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Master of Law Program, Dr. Sigit Nugroho, S.H., M.H., stated that UBB’s Master of Law program serves as an option for professionals and academics seeking to deepen their study of law. The program offers a range of concentrations relevant to regional and national development needs, including Economic and Business Law, Criminal Justice Systems, Mining Law, Natural Resources and Environmental Law, as well as Constitutional and Administrative Law.

The Coordinator of the Master of Agricultural Science Program, Dr. Eva Helda, S.P., M.Si., explained that the program focuses on developing competencies in sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, and agricultural technology innovation. The program is expected to produce graduates who contribute to the development of the food and agribusiness sectors, particularly within the Bangka Belitung Islands.

Through this Graduate School Open House, UBB hopes that an increasing number of community members will take advantage of the opportunity to pursue master’s-level education. Postgraduate education is expected not only to enhance academic and professional capacity, but also to cultivate innovative, competitive human resources capable of making meaningful contributions to both regional and national development.

The event was conducted in an interactive manner through study program presentation sessions, discussions, academic consultations, and question-and-answer segments. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident from the considerable number of questions raised, ranging from registration procedures and enrollment schedules to the implementation of lectures for each study program. On the occasion, the organizing committee also announced that new student admissions for UBB’s Graduate School for the 2026/2027 Academic Year are now open. Prior to the conclusion of the event, UBB’s flagship Prior Learning Recognition Program (RPL) was also presented by the Head of the Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation Bureau, Hesty.
