UNDIP and Jiangsu Agri-Animal Husbandry Vocational College, China, Explore Collaboration in Education and Research

EduAsiaNews, Semarang – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) welcomed a delegation from Jiangsu Agri-Animal Husbandry Vocational College (JAAHVC), China, at the Rector’s Meeting Room, Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, on Thursday, June 11, 2026. The visit marked an important opportunity to strengthen institutional relations while exploring potential collaboration in education, research, and human resource development.

Prior to meeting with the university leadership, the JAAHVC delegation visited several faculties within UNDIP whose academic disciplines align closely with their areas of expertise, namely the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences and the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences. The visits provided an opportunity to gain deeper insight into the academic and research activities conducted by both faculties while opening avenues for discussions on future collaboration.

The delegation was welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Prof. Sugiharto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D.

During the meeting, both institutions introduced their respective profiles and achievements and discussed various opportunities for collaboration. Potential areas of cooperation included student and faculty exchange programs, collaborative research initiatives, and a range of international academic programs.

The JAAHVC delegation was led by Vice President Jundong Liu and comprised leaders from faculties specializing in modern animal husbandry, modern fisheries, biomedical sciences and animal health pharmacy, veterinary medicine and public health, as well as international cooperation and exchange.

UNDIP’s Vice Director for Partnerships and Global Connectivity, Pulung Widhi Hari Hananto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., welcomed the prospect of collaboration.

“UNDIP highly welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with Jiangsu Agri-Animal Husbandry Vocational College. We see numerous areas that can be developed jointly, ranging from student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research, and international academic programs to the strengthening of global networks that will benefit both institutions,” he stated.

JAAHVC Vice President Jundong Liu also expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to engage in discussions and gain a closer understanding of UNDIP’s academic programs. He noted that the visits to several faculties prior to the meeting with university leaders provided valuable insights into the collaborative potential between the two institutions.

“Through this visit, we have gained a deeper understanding of the educational programs, research activities, and facilities available at Universitas Diponegoro. The discussions with faculty members and university leaders have provided us with a clearer picture of the various collaboration opportunities that can be developed in the future,” said Jundong Liu.

Meanwhile, UNDIP Director of Innovation and Cooperation, Drh. Dian Wahyu Harjanti, Ph.D., emphasized that there are numerous collaborative opportunities that can be developed, particularly in the fields of animal husbandry, fisheries, animal health, and biotechnology, which represent shared areas of focus for both institutions.

“Animal husbandry, fisheries, animal health, and biotechnology are fields with significant potential for collaboration. We hope that the discussions conducted today can be followed up through concrete programs that provide benefits to both institutions in the areas of education, research, and innovation,” she explained.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the dialogue through the development of more concrete cooperation programs. One of the initiatives discussed was the possibility of drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a foundation for future academic and research collaboration.
