EduAsiaNews, Bandung – The Faculty of Medicine of Padjadjaran University (Unpad) signed a Cooperation Agreement with Prof. Dr. Arthur Gan Hok Bing, MD, regarding a grant for the renovation of Building C4 at the Faculty of Medicine, Unpad Jatinangor Campus, along with the provision of relevant supporting facilities and infrastructure. The signing ceremony took place at the Unpad Executive Lounge, Jl. Dipati Ukur No. 35, Bandung, on Friday, 5 June 2026.
Prof. Arthur Bing is a member of Unpad’s first graduating cohort and studied at the Faculty of Medicine. Shortly after completing his studies at Unpad, he pursued a medical career in the United States and has since become recognized as one of the country’s leading plastic surgeons as well as a prominent philanthropist.
“Professor Bing is one of our most distinguished alumni from the Faculty of Medicine. His achievements in the United States have been truly remarkable. He serves as an inspiration to all of us, demonstrating how one’s professional success can contribute meaningfully to one’s alma mater and create lasting benefits for Unpad,” said Unpad Rector, Prof. Arief S. Kartasasmita.
Prof. Arief also expressed his hope that Prof. Arthur Bing would take the opportunity to share his experiences and inspire students by providing insights into how to become a prominent clinician in the United States.
Meanwhile, Prof. Arthur Bing expressed his hope that other Unpad alumni would also contribute to the development of their alma mater.
“Padjadjaran University is where I was born as a doctor. I hope that, as Unpad alumni, we can set an example for others and help make Unpad the number one university in Indonesia,” said Prof. Arthur Bing.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Arthur Bing, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. dr. Vitriana, Sp.KFR., and Unpad Rector Prof. Arief S. Kartasasmita.
Also in attendance were Vice Rector for Planning, Digital Transformation, Finance, and Business Management Prof. Maman Setiawan; Director of Cooperation and Alumni Partnerships Prof. Tomy Perdana; Head of the Alumni Partnership and Endowment Office Dr. Prita Amalia; and Dr. Koeswadji, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Unpad.
