EduAsiaNews, Riau – Universitas Riau (Unri) held a ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Day 2026 at the Rectorate Building Courtyard, Binawidya Campus, on Monday, 1 June 2026.
The event was attended by members of the university’s academic community, including lecturers, administrative and support staff, and students, as a demonstration of respect for the noble values of Pancasila as the foundation of the Indonesian state and national ideology.
Serving as the ceremony inspector, Sri Indarti, Rector of Universitas Riau, led the ceremony, which was conducted solemnly and imbued with a strong spirit of nationalism. The commemoration of Pancasila Day served as an important occasion for the entire university community to reflect on their roles and responsibilities in upholding and implementing Pancasila values within the academic environment and broader society.
In her address, the Rector encouraged all members of the academic community to continue safeguarding national unity and strengthening their commitment to nation-building through education, research, and community service grounded in the principles of Pancasila.
The ceremony also featured the recitation of a pledge of allegiance to Pancasila, participated in by all attendees, followed by a collective prayer honoring the nation’s heroes who fought to defend Indonesia’s independence.
Through the commemoration of Pancasila Day 2026, Universitas Riau reaffirmed its commitment as a higher education institution that not only focuses on advancing science and technology but also plays an active role in instilling national values, character development, and the spirit of unity among the younger generation as the future leaders of the nation.
