The 137th Graduation Ceremony of Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) in 2026

EduAsiaNews, Malang – Universitas Negeri Malang will hold its 137th Graduation Ceremony of 2026 on Saturday, May 30, conferring degrees upon graduates from various levels of higher education. A total of 1,199 prospective graduates are registered for this graduation period.

During the 137th Graduation Ceremony, UM recorded notable achievements in the academic quality of its graduates. Among Diploma and Bachelor’s degree graduates, 858 students (90.22%) achieved a Grade Point Average (GPA) above 2.75. Their graduation distinctions were as follows: 853 graduates (89.70%) received the distinction With Honors (Cum Laude), 98 graduates (10.30%) earned the distinction Highly Satisfactory, and none graduated with the distinction Satisfactory.

For Master’s and Doctoral degree graduates, the graduation distinctions were as follows: 223 graduates (89.92%) received the distinction With Honors (Cum Laude), 23 graduates (9.27%) earned the distinction Highly Satisfactory, and *2 graduates (0.81%) received the distinction Satisfactory.

UM also extended special recognition to graduates who demonstrated outstanding academic and non-academic achievements. The distinguished graduates are as follows:

Dr. Hairani, from the Doctoral Program in Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Faculty of Engineering, graduated with a perfect GPA of 4.00, completed the program in five semesters, and received the distinction With Honors (Cum Laude).
Alfiatus Zulfa, M.Pd., from the Master’s Program in Geography Education, Faculty of Social Sciences, graduated with a GPA of 4.00, completed the program in three semesters, and received the distinction With Honors (Cum Laude).
Mufadila Shalsa Nurjanah, S.Pd., from the Bachelor’s Program in Educational Technology, Faculty of Education, graduated with a GPA of 3.96, completed the program in seven semesters, and received the distinction With Honors (Cum Laude).

In addition to academic excellence, UM also recognized an outstanding graduate in non-academic achievements:

Nanda Putri Islami, S.Pd., from the Bachelor’s Program in English Language Education, Faculty of Letters, graduated with a GPA of 3.92, completed her studies in eight semesters, and received the distinction With Honors (Cum Laude). Her notable accomplishments include participation in the International Academic Visit to Maahad As-Sultan Ahmad Shah Ad-Dini and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Jengka, Malaysia Student Buddy Program (2025), as well as serving in the International Teaching Assistance (AMI) Program at Universiti Teknologi MARA (2024) and Maahad As-Sultan Ahmad Shah Ad-Dini, Pahang, Malaysia (2024).

As of the 137th Graduation Ceremony, UM has conferred degrees upon a total of 172,373 alumni, comprising 2,940 doctoral graduates, 14,075 master’s graduates, 116,224 bachelor’s graduates, 417 applied bachelor’s (Diploma IV) graduates, 17,151 Diploma III graduates, and 18,013 non-degree program graduates.
