EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Quality Assurance Agency (BPM) of Universitas Nasional facilitated an external accreditation assistance program for the Political Science Study Program on Monday, May 26, 2026, at the UNAS Seminar Room. The activity aimed to strengthen the study program’s readiness to achieve an excellent accreditation status through evaluation, feedback, and refinement of accreditation documents.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Research, and Student Affairs of Universitas Nasional, Prof. Dr. Erna Ermawati, M.Si., expressed hope that the Political Science Study Program would achieve the best possible result in the accreditation process. She emphasized the importance of collective teamwork and the readiness of the team in understanding accreditation assessment indicators.

“We hope that the Political Science Study Program can achieve an excellent accreditation status. External perspectives are usually more observant in identifying aspects that still need to be strengthened, both in terms of narrative and supporting evidence. Therefore, this opportunity should be utilized optimally to understand key points that can support the achievement of excellent accreditation,” she stated.

She added that fulfilling the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Additional Performance Indicators was an important aspect of the accreditation assessment. According to her, synergy and collaboration among teams are key factors in achieving the best results.

“We hope to receive guidance regarding indicators that can still be improved so that the scores obtained will be more optimal. This is a collective effort that requires the support and collaboration of all parties to achieve an excellent accreditation status,” she added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Political Science Study Program, Dr. Aos Yuli Firdaus, S.I.P., M.Si., expressed appreciation for the presence of the external assessor during the activity. He hoped that the assistance process would provide constructive input for improving the accreditation documents.

“We hope to receive feedback and evaluation regarding the documents we have prepared. All suggestions and criticisms will serve as valuable input for improving the accreditation process,” he said.

On the same occasion, external assessor Dr. Iding Rosyidin explained several important aspects that must be fulfilled for a study program to achieve an excellent accreditation status.

“There are five requirements for achieving excellent accreditation, each of which must obtain a minimum score of two points. All aspects must be maximized, and none should receive a score of zero or one. Even if other aspects are fulfilled, the presence of low scores can affect the achievement of excellent accreditation,” he explained.

He also expressed optimism regarding UNAS’ readiness to face the accreditation process, stating that the institution already possesses a strong foundation. According to him, standards in management, graduate outcomes, lecturers and educational staff, as well as quality assurance standards, need to continue being optimized in order to achieve the highest possible score.

“I am optimistic because UNAS already has a strong foundation. What remains is ensuring that all existing standards are fully optimized to achieve the best possible results,” he concluded. (TIN)
