EduAsiaNews, lampung – Indonesian AID, officially known as the Indonesian Agency for International Development (LDKPI), in collaboration with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Lampung, held a talk show titled “Strengthening Diplomacy, Enhancing Economic Cooperation.” The event took place at the D.3.1 Auditorium of FISIP Unila on Thursday, 21 May 2026.

Indonesian AID is a Public Service Agency under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia that manages the distribution of international grants as part of Indonesia’s soft diplomacy strategy.

The talk show featured Dalyono, President Director of LDKPI, and Arizka Warganegara as keynote speakers.

Moderated by Indra Jaya Wiranata, the discussion explored the role of Indonesian AID as an instrument of Indonesia’s grant diplomacy.

In his presentation, Dalyono explained how international assistance serves not only as a form of humanitarian solidarity but also as a diplomatic strategy to strengthen Indonesia’s position on the global stage.

“Indonesian AID was established to integrate Indonesia’s various international assistance programs so they can become more focused and strategic. The assistance provided covers sectors such as healthcare, education, infrastructure development, and capacity-building training for partner countries,” he explained.

The discussion also emphasized that grant diplomacy creates a dual impact: strengthening international relations while simultaneously opening opportunities for economic and political cooperation for Indonesia.

Prof. Arizka Warganegara stated that grant diplomacy, including the activities carried out by Indonesian AID, represents a form of soft power diplomacy implemented through international assistance.

“This assistance involves several technical aspects such as humanitarian aid, development projects, and technical support. Its objective is to build diplomacy without coercion, beyond governmental dynamics and military power,” he said.

Dean of FISIP Unila, Anna Gustina Zainal, expressed appreciation for the collaborative event.

She noted that the talk show plays an important role in strengthening public and student understanding of Indonesia’s role in the global arena. Students were also encouraged to take an active role in contributing to international engagement.
