EduAsiaNews, Padang — The 4th Batch of Halal Supervisor Training officially commenced today, Saturday (May 16, 2026), and will continue until Monday, May 18, 2026. This strategic program is organized by the Technical Support Unit (UPT) Halal PDS of Universitas Negeri Padang.

This training session is considered particularly special as it brings together participants from both Indonesia and abroad. Among the registered participants are three international attendees from Bangkok, who joined the program to deepen their understanding of halal standard systems and practices.

The participation of international attendees reflects the commitment of UPT Halal UNP to ensuring that its services and contributions provide broad benefits across borders. The three participants from Bangkok, Thailand, joining this batch are:

Anuwat Romalee (Master’s Student)
Natthapol Romalee (Halal Supervisor)
Arnut Romalee (Consultant and Designer of Halal Standard Systems)

In addition to participants from Thailand, the training is also attended by professionals and practitioners from the culinary and healthcare sectors across several regions in West Sumatra, including Padang, Pariaman, Solok, and Padang Pariaman.

The domestic participants come from diverse professional backgrounds, ranging from nutrition supervisors at Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), restaurant chefs, to culinary entrepreneurs, including representatives from Promise Coffee Lab and Resto and PT Dalletta Rancak Bana.

To ensure that the training quality aligns with the latest regulatory standards, UPT Halal UNP invited speakers directly from the Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal (BPJPH) of the Republic of Indonesia.

In the first session, participants received essential material on the “Regulations and Scope of the Halal Product Assurance System (JPH).” The session was delivered by Mohammad Auli Rakhman, First Expert Archivist at the Central BPJPH Office. During his presentation, he thoroughly explained Indonesia’s halal product assurance regulations to provide participants with a strong legal foundation and comprehensive understanding as future halal supervisors. This knowledge is considered crucial to ensuring that all Halal Product Processes (PPH) within institutions or companies comply with both Islamic principles and applicable laws.

Halal Supervisors play a highly strategic role within companies and business entities. They serve as internal authorities responsible for ensuring that all ingredients, production processes, and product presentations consistently maintain halal integrity.

Through the implementation of this 4th Batch Training Program, UPT Halal UNP hopes to continue producing competent halal supervisors who are responsive to regulatory developments and well-prepared to face the mandatory halal certification policy scheduled for October 2026. The program also aims to strengthen the competitiveness of both local and international products within the rapidly growing global halal market.
