EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — Another proud achievement has been recorded by a student of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta. Nur Mufiidah Sudirman, commonly known as Nufi, a student of the Faculty of Medicine, succeeded in winning one gold medal and four silver medals at the 2026 National Aquatics Championship held from May 5–7, 2026. The achievement was earned in various diving events.
The information regarding her accomplishment was conveyed in an interview on Friday, May 8, 2026. In the national championship, Nufi competed as one of the leading athletes in diving and demonstrated consistent performance across multiple events.
Nufi is a national diving athlete who has been involved in the sport since the age of seven. Her dedication and discipline in training have enabled her to consistently compete at the national level. In preparation for the 2026 National Aquatics Championship, she underwent an intensive training program starting early in the year, with increased intensity in the final month before the competition.
Despite her academic responsibilities as a medical student, Nufi has been able to maintain a balance between education and athletics. She emphasizes that time management, discipline, and consistency are key factors in managing both commitments simultaneously.
The 2026 National Aquatics Championship brought together the best diving athletes from across Indonesia. The event served as a strategic competition, as outstanding athletes will be included in the candidate list for the 2027 SEA Games and will proceed to further selection stages.
In diving, Nufi specializes in springboard events. In this championship, she competed in the women’s 1-meter springboard, women’s 3-meter springboard, women’s synchronized 3-meter, mixed synchronized 3-meter, and team events. From these categories, she secured a total of five medals: one gold and four silver.
Her achievement reflects that students of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta excel not only in academics but also in non-academic fields at the national level. Her success demonstrates that commitment, hard work, and consistency can go hand in hand with the demands of higher education.
