EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Efforts to expand access to education for high-achieving students have once again been reinforced by Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ). Through an audience meeting with Djarum Foundation (May 5, 2026), UPNVJ has opened opportunities for strategic collaboration in the Djarum Beasiswa Plus Program (Djarum Bakti Pendidikan), which focuses on both academic development and the enhancement of students’ soft skills.

The meeting was led directly by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Information Systems of UPNVJ, Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa, Sp.KJ., MH. On this occasion, she emphasized the importance of this collaboration as a practical solution for outstanding students who face financial constraints.

“Through this program, we hope that more UPNVJ students will not only excel academically but also receive support to continue their education without financial barriers,” she stated.

From the Djarum Foundation, the attending team explained that the Djarum Bakti Pendidikan Program is an independent initiative focused on the development of education, socio-cultural advancement, and environmental sustainability. One of the representatives, Abraham, highlighted that the program is comprehensively designed and covers various levels of education.

At the higher education level, the Djarum Beasiswa Plus Program not only provides financial assistance of IDR 1,000,000 per month but also offers various personal development programs. Scholarship recipients will receive training based on project-based learning, participate in a six-month community empowerment program, and have opportunities to join essay contests to present authentic ideas and solutions to real-world issues through well-argued and impactful writing. Additionally, the program offers international exposure to encourage student achievement through competitions and global forums such as Model United Nations (MUN).

“Students also have the opportunity to build a national network, as this program has reached 132 universities across 38 provinces in Indonesia,” Abraham explained.

The meeting also revealed that registration for the 2026 Djarum Beasiswa Plus Program has been open since April 8 and will continue until June 10, 2026. UPNVJ is expected to participate in this year’s selection period. Interested students may apply through the official Djarum Beasiswa Plus website and follow the designated selection stages.

The scholarship is intended for students who will enter their fifth and sixth semesters, with a minimum requirement of currently being in the fourth semester. The quota of scholarship recipients is flexible and will be adjusted based on the number and quality of applicants in each region.

This collaboration marks a strategic step by UPNVJ in strengthening an inclusive and competitive educational ecosystem. With support from external partners such as Djarum Foundation, students are expected not only to receive financial assistance but also to develop into outstanding individuals who are ready to contribute at both national and global levels.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
