EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — A delegation of Communication Science students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ), demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm while attending a National Seminar organized through a collaboration between the Perhimpunan Hubungan Masyarakat Indonesia and Good News From Indonesia. The event, held at the auditorium of Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA (UHAMKA), served as an important platform for the academic community to deepen their understanding of contemporary digital communication dynamics. Jakarta, April 16, 2026.
The national seminar carried the theme “Navigating Crisis: Managing Communication Amid Global Tensions,” featuring prominent communication experts, including Prabu Revolusi (Chairman of the AI Forum Indonesia), Rian Fahardhi (Founder of Distrik Berisik), and Magvira Yuliani (Academic at UHAMKA). The FISIP UPNVJ student delegation attended under the guidance of their Communication Studies lecturer, Marina Rospitasari, to explore crisis mitigation strategies amid global geopolitical tensions.
Active student engagement was evident throughout the discussion sessions. Their intellectual responsiveness was demonstrated through critical questions posed to the panelists. One notable achievement was earned by Azkia Maryam Balqis, a Communication Science student at UPNVJ, who was selected as one of the best questioners for her insightful inquiry regarding the challenges of digital communication.
The Head of the Communication Science Study Program at UPNVJ, Uljanatunnisa, emphasized the importance of student participation in professional forums such as this. She stated that such activities serve as a crucial bridge between theoretical learning in the classroom and the rapidly evolving realities of the communication industry, particularly through collaboration with major organizations such as PERHUMAS and GNFI.
Similar support was expressed by the Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs at FISIP UPNVJ, Azwar, who fully endorsed this participation. According to him, such active involvement is part of the faculty’s strategy to provide students with broader external exposure beyond campus. This is considered essential in strengthening the values of national resilience, particularly in equipping students to navigate the complexities of global communication.
Through this participation, FISIP UPNVJ hopes that students will not only gain new insights but also develop the mental readiness to become resilient and adaptive communication professionals in response to global changes.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
