EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Faculty of Computer Science at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (FIK UPNVJ) held a series of events to mark its 31st anniversary from May 6 to 9, 2026, at the FIK concourse, basketball court, and wall climbing area of UPNVJ. Carrying the theme “Techno Patriot: Endless Innovation, Service to the Nation,” the event served as a momentum to strengthen solidarity among the academic community, alumni, and partners, while reaffirming the faculty’s contribution to impactful technological development for both the campus and society.
In his remarks, the Rector of UPNVJ, Anter Venus, emphasized that strengthening digital innovation at the faculty level is a crucial part of UPNVJ’s transformation agenda. Through the 31st anniversary of FIK UPNVJ, the spirit of Techno Patriot is expected not to remain merely a celebratory theme, but to evolve into a collective movement to build a superior, relevant, and service-oriented technological ecosystem for the nation.
The anniversary series officially commenced on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the FIK concourse with an opening ceremony and a talk show themed “Media Digitalization Industry.” On this occasion, FIK UPNVJ also introduced two applications developed to support digital services within the university—Lentera and SIMA—which were officially launched by the Rector.
The Dean of FIK UPNVJ, Supriyanto, stated that the 31st anniversary is not merely ceremonial, but also a platform to rebuild a shared spirit within the faculty. He emphasized that the strength of FIK UPNVJ lies in the collaboration of five key elements: lecturers, students, administrative staff, alumni, and partners.
“This 31st anniversary is one of our efforts to foster unity among these five elements,” he said.
According to him, the Techno Patriot theme reflects the direction of FIK UPNVJ’s development as a faculty that is not only focused on technological advancement but also grounded in values of service and societal impact. Technology, he noted, must be practical, closely aligned with community needs, and capable of delivering tangible solutions for institutions and the nation.
“For the FIK community, let us continue to build this faculty with dedication. Let us become grounded technology advocates,” he added.
In addition to the opening and talk show, the anniversary featured a variety of academic, social, and collaborative activities. On Thursday, May 7, 2026, FIK UPNVJ organized a State Defense and Technology Exhibition as well as a Job Fair at the FIK concourse. This event served as a meeting point for academia, industry, and the public, expanding networks and creating career opportunities for students and graduates.
On Friday, May 8, 2026, the program continued with a public lecture titled “Handling Technology Project Management” and free health check-up services. These activities highlighted that the anniversary not only focused on strengthening technological competencies but also addressed the health and well-being of the academic community.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, FIK UPNVJ held the 4th IKATIK Congress 2026 and again provided free health check-up services. Throughout May 6–9, the celebration was further enlivened by an MSME bazaar held at the basketball and wall climbing areas. The bazaar extended the impact of the event by involving micro, small, and medium enterprises as part of the campus ecosystem.
Prof. Supriyanto noted that the 31st anniversary should serve as a milestone to strengthen FIK’s role as an adaptive, collaborative, and productive faculty in generating innovation. The launch of the Lentera and SIMA applications stands as a concrete example of FIK UPNVJ’s contribution to advancing the university’s digital transformation.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
