EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Warmth and camaraderie marked the 32nd anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) on Saturday, Oct. 24. Following a fun walk, the celebrations continued with a ceremonial rice-cone cutting and a door-prize giveaway at UPNVJ’s ceremonial field.
The event was attended by university leaders, faculty officials, lecturers, administrative staff and students, who gathered to celebrate FISIP UPNVJ’s 32-year journey.
The ceremonial cutting of the tumpeng, a cone-shaped rice dish traditionally served at celebratory occasions, symbolized gratitude for the faculty’s achievements while reflecting a shared commitment to unity and institutional progress.
UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm., said the anniversary was not merely a celebration of the faculty’s growing age but also an opportunity to strengthen solidarity in pursuing institutional development goals.
“As an expression of gratitude, we cut the tumpeng to demonstrate our enthusiasm and solidarity, so that FISIP can continue to advance, excel and gain international recognition,” Venus said.
In addition to the tumpeng ceremony, the celebrations became livelier with a door-prize giveaway for the FISIP UPNVJ community, including students in attendance.
The prizes served as a token of appreciation while creating an interactive atmosphere that strengthened ties among university leaders, lecturers, administrative staff and students.
FISIP UPNVJ Dean Dr. Bekti Istiyanto, M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the support of all parties who contributed to the 32nd anniversary celebrations.
He specifically thanked the university leadership, including Rector Anter Venus, for supporting the event by providing door prizes.
“The anniversary celebrations have also been made more festive by our sponsors and media partner, iNews Media. We have 16 tenants, including BNI. Thank you for your cooperation and collaboration,” Bekti said.
The participation of various partners and tenants added to the festivities while highlighting the importance of collaboration between universities and stakeholders in supporting student activities and institutional initiatives.
Held under the theme “Nexus of Connectivity: Connecting People, Ideas, and Impact,” FISIP UPNVJ’s 32nd anniversary provided an opportunity to strengthen connections across the academic community and build sustainable partnerships.
Through the tumpeng ceremony and door-prize giveaway, FISIP UPNVJ hopes to sustain this spirit of togetherness as a foundation for improving educational quality, institutional development and community contributions.
