EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) kicked off its 32nd anniversary celebrations with a fun walk on Saturday, Oct. 24, starting at 7 a.m. Western Indonesia Time. The event provided an opportunity to strengthen camaraderie while reflecting on FISIP UPNVJ’s 32-year journey and achievements.
Held under the theme “Nexus of Connectivity: Connecting People, Ideas, and Impact,” this year’s anniversary celebration emphasized the importance of building connections across the academic community, strengthening collaboration and making meaningful contributions to institutional development and society.
The fun walk was officially opened by FISIP UPNVJ Dean Dr. Bekti Istiyanto, M.Si., followed by remarks from UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm. Lecturers, administrative staff and FISIP UPNVJ support teams took part in the event, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
In his remarks, the rector invited participants to reflect on the faculty’s long journey of development and its transformation in academic programs, facilities and public trust.
“Our 32-year journey began when we had to go to schools to recruit students. Today, 94,500 people apply to UPNVJ,” Venus said.
He emphasized that FISIP UPNVJ’s progress was the result of the hard work and shared commitment of its academic community, which has consistently strived to improve the quality of higher education.
“We built FISIP from scratch, and it has grown tremendously to what it is today, including in terms of facilities. Our dreams for FISIP’s development are gradually becoming reality,” he added.
Echoing the rector’s remarks, FISIP UPNVJ Dean Dr. Bekti Istiyanto, M.Si., expressed gratitude for the faculty’s 32-year journey. He said its academic and institutional achievements demonstrated its commitment to improving educational quality.
“We are grateful to have reached 32 years and achieved so much. Our study programs have also earned excellent accreditation,” Bekti said.
He also expressed appreciation to university leaders, lecturers, administrative staff and everyone who had contributed to FISIP UPNVJ’s development.
Through the fun walk, FISIP UPNVJ not only created opportunities for interaction and stronger relationships across its academic community but also fostered a shared commitment to continued growth and innovation.
The event also marked the beginning of the faculty’s 32nd anniversary celebrations, which continued with a ceremonial tumpeng rice-cone cutting, a door-prize giveaway and various entertainment performances.
The 32nd anniversary celebration is expected to further strengthen solidarity across the FISIP UPNVJ community and serve as a springboard for building on its achievements as the faculty strives to become increasingly excellent, innovative andcompetitive.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
