EduAsiaNews, jakarta – The spirit of perseverance among participants of the Computer-Based Written Examination for National Selection Based on Tests (UTBK-SNBT) was once again evident at the UTBK Center of UPN “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) on Thursday (April 23, 2026). Muhammad Raja Natanawi, a student of SMKN 1 Cikarang Barat, continued to take the examination despite being injured and preparing to undergo surgery on his leg. This decision reflects his strong determination to pursue the opportunity to enroll in a public university.
Muhammad explained that the injury resulted from an accident he experienced some time ago. According to medical examination, there was fluid accumulation in his knee, requiring surgical intervention. However, the operation was postponed so that he could first participate in the UTBK.
“My leg is currently injured. The pain is due to a recent accident. When I went to the hospital, they said there was fluid in my knee and that surgery was planned. The operation is scheduled with a surgeon at Fatmawati Hospital after I finish today’s UTBK,” he stated.
Despite his physical condition not yet fully recovered, Muhammad attended the exam with determination and confidence. For him, the UTBK represents an important step toward achieving his aspiration of continuing his education at a public university.
When asked about his reason for persisting in taking the exam, Muhammad gave a brief yet meaningful response: “Because I want to be admitted to a public university.”
Not only striving for himself, Muhammad also shared words of encouragement for fellow UTBK participants. He urged others not to give up under any circumstances, especially those who are not facing physical limitations.
“Stay motivated, no matter the situation,” he said.
Muhammad Raja Natanawi’s story serves as a powerful example that physical limitations do not necessarily hinder one’s progress. His resilience and motivation convey a strong message that the journey toward higher education demands courage, endurance, and unwavering hope.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
