
EduAsiaNews, Padang (UNAND) – The Central Board of the Andalas University Faculty of Medicine Alumni Association (IKA FK UNAND) for the 2025–2030 period was officially inaugurated at the M. Syaaf Student Center Hall, Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University, on Sunday (February 1, 2026).
The inauguration was accompanied by the IKA FK UNAND Central Board Working Meeting as an initial step in formulating the organization’s work program for the next five years.
The new IKA FK UNAND leadership for the 2025–2030 period is chaired by Dr. dr. Yevri Zulfikar, Sp.B-Sp.U(K), M.Kes, who was elected as chairman. He previously served as the Director of Andalas University Hospital (RS UNAND).
The event was attended by Andalas University Rector, Prof. Efa Yonnedi, Ph.D., and Chairman of the Andalas University Alumni Association (IKA UNAND) Central Board, Denny Abdi. In his remarks, Rector Prof. Efa Yonnedi emphasized the crucial role of alumni in supporting the university’s strategic policy directions. He outlined four main development focuses for Andalas University: the downstreaming of research and community service, development of flagship medical faculty products based on research and innovation, construction of high-quality, modern, and environmentally friendly infrastructure, and strengthening the university’s reputation in national and international ranking systems.
According to him, alumni contributions through professional networks and cross-sector collaborations are essential to sustainably achieve these four priorities, particularly in enhancing the role of the Faculty of Medicine as a pillar in the development of the health sector at Andalas University.
Meanwhile, IKA UNAND Central Board Chairman Denny Abdi highlighted the importance of alumni in strengthening professional networks and making tangible contributions to their alma mater and society. He expressed hope that IKA FK UNAND would serve as a strategic platform for alumni to actively contribute to the advancement of education and healthcare services.
Through the working meeting held following the inauguration, the 2025–2030 IKA FK UNAND Central Board outlined the organization’s policy directions and strategic programs as a demonstration of its commitment to strengthening the alumni’s role in the development of the health sector and improving the quality of education at Andalas University.
