
EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The event was attended by approximately 30 industry partners, reflecting the strong enthusiasm and concern of the industrial sector for the development of higher education. The Chair of the Organizing Committee, Firdaus Hadi, emphasized that input from graduate employers is a crucial element for FISH UNJ in preparing students with strong and relevant competencies.
“Feedback from graduate user partners is very important for us, particularly regarding alumni performance and the competencies required in the field. Through this forum, we also aim to expand cooperation in internship programs and graduate recruitment,” he stated.
The Director of Innovation, Information Systems, and Rankings of UNJ, R.A. Murti Kusuma Wirasti, also attended the event. In her remarks, she conveyed that the Employer Meeting is aligned with government policies through the Kampus Berdampak program, which encourages higher education institutions to ensure that the implementation of the tridharma of higher education delivers tangible impacts for industry and society.
During the opening session, the Dean of FISH UNJ, Firdaus Wajdi, expressed his appreciation to the strategic partners who have collaborated with FISH UNJ. He emphasized the importance of directly listening to industry perspectives on current issues in their respective fields so that the university can adjust its curriculum in a more contextual manner.
“Academic research and studies often originate from literature, but input from graduate employers becomes a vital reference to ensure that our graduates are truly ready to face the world of work,” he stated.
He also reaffirmed FISH UNJ’s vision as part of a collective effort toward Indonesia Emas, by producing excellent graduates who are competitive and possess strong character.
“Ultimately, we aim to become an institution that contributes to guiding Indonesia toward the achievement of its national development goals,” he added.
The Employer Meeting was also marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (Perjanjian Kerja Sama/PKS) between FISH UNJ and Blue Sky Group, represented by Agung Santoso, in collaboration with the Public Relations and Digital Communication Study Program. In addition, FISH UNJ signed a PKS with Eduversal Indonesia, represented by Alvin Raditya.
Beyond the signing of cooperation agreements, the event also directly explored industry needs through interactive discussion sessions that featured perspectives from industry representatives. The discussions highlighted the importance of internship programs as an initial gateway for students and graduates entering the workforce. Industry representatives emphasized their readiness to offer structured internship opportunities and even recruit students who demonstrate strong performance during their internship programs.
Various strategic issues were also discussed, including the gap between academia and the world of work, which was viewed not as the fault of a single party, but as a shared challenge that must be addressed through collaboration. Agung Santoso, HR Director of Blue Sky Group and one of the speakers at the event, stressed the importance of a growth mindset, critical thinking, and adaptability, which should be developed from the early stages of university education.
In response, FISH UNJ reaffirmed its role in shaping students’ mindsets and character through the foundations of social sciences and law, ethics, governance, and compliance. Furthermore, FISH UNJ continues to open opportunities for collaboration through structured internship programs, practitioner-led lectures, and learning models based on projects and real industry cases.
Appreciation for the event was also expressed by the faculty leadership, including the Vice Dean for Research, Innovation, Information Systems, and Cooperation of FISH UNJ, Nugrahaeni, who emphasized the importance of sustainable collaboration with industry partners. In closing, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni of FISH UNJ, Kurniawati, highlighted that issues of character and soft skills are often overlooked, even though they are crucial factors in graduates’ readiness to enter the workforce. Input from industry was considered highly valuable as a basis for continuous improvement at FISH UNJ.
Through this Employer Meeting, FISH UNJ reaffirmed its openness to continuously strengthening and extending cooperation with industry partners, while ensuring that the educational process on campus is truly impactful and relevant to the needs of the professional world.
