EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) has initiated the qualitative accreditation nurturing phase for the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program and the Professional Nursing (Ners) Program as part of the preparation for reaccreditation based on the accreditation instrument of the Indonesian Independent Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes). This inaugural activity was held in the FIKES UPNVJ Meeting Room and was attended by the Acting Dean, vice deans, department heads, study program administrators, as well as teams of lecturers and educational support staff responsible for accreditation criteria.

This initiative aims to align shared understanding in the preparation of the Self-Evaluation Report (SER), strengthen compliance with the eight accreditation criteria, and ensure the consistent implementation of the internal quality assurance system in order to achieve an “Excellent” accreditation status.

The mentoring process is conducted by LAM-PTKes assessors over a maximum period of eight weeks through four online meetings. It focuses on enhancing understanding of the qualitative accreditation instrument, developing data-driven and analytical SER writing strategies, and integrating the cycle of Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement (PPEPP) within the tridharma of higher education and study program governance. The nurturing activities are carried out in stages, beginning with the discussion of Criteria 1–2, followed by Criteria 3–5, then Criteria 6–8, and concluding with the independent refinement of the SER prior to its submission to the Accreditation Management Information System (SIMAk).

The intensive discussions emphasize that the SER should not merely be descriptive, but analytical and reflective, supported by the integration of quantitative data and qualitative narratives.

The presentation is focused on key elements, concise delivery, and the clear demonstration of tangible impacts of education, research, and community service. This initiative reinforces the view of accreditation as a tool for continuous quality improvement rather than a purely administrative evaluation, ensuring graduate quality, student and patient safety, and public trust in the nursing profession.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
