EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Rector of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) inaugurated the Tour de Faculty program as a strategic dialogue platform between the university leadership and faculties. The inaugural session was held at the Faculty of Law (FH) on 20 January 2026, and was led by Rector Prof. Anter Venus, accompanied by leaders from university bureaus, institutes, and the Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI). The program provides a forum for reflection, reporting, and direct consultation regarding the current condition and development direction of the Faculty of Law.
During his presentation, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Suherman, S.H., LL.M, accompanied by vice deans, department heads, and several faculty and staff representatives, outlined the faculty’s current student body: 1,989 undergraduate Law students, 40 undergraduate Business Law students, 212 master’s Law students, and 16 doctoral Law students.
“Of nearly two thousand undergraduate Law students, only eight classes are currently available. Business Law has just one class, while the Master’s and Doctoral programs each have two classes. We have been dividing students optimally across these 13 classes, and fortunately, no major issues have arisen, but this will require attention moving forward,” explained Dr. Suherman.
Dr. Suherman also emphasized that the teaching approach for Law students is highly practice-oriented. “Law students engage more in practical exercises than theoretical learning, so we hope practical facilities such as laboratories can continue to be expanded and developed,” he added.
From 2023 to 2025, the Faculty of Law has undergone several facility upgrades, including the library, student corridors, contract drafting laboratory, doctoral rooms, faculty offices, professor offices, and multifunctional examination rooms. “We greatly appreciate the Rector’s full support in upgrading these facilities,” said Dr. Suherman.
Responding to the presentation, Prof. Venus highlighted that the Tour de Faculty is designed to align perspectives on the university’s development goals and strategic direction. “This visit is intended to build a shared understanding of the direction we want to take, the targets we aim to achieve, and the steps we need to take,” he said. He emphasized that university operations are based on regulations, data, and solid justification in every decision-making process.
Prof. Venus also evaluated that the Faculty of Law is on the right track in its development. “I think what the Faculty of Law has been doing is on the right track. We only need to map existing challenges and assess further developments required for the future,” he affirmed.
He encouraged the Faculty of Law to continue strengthening human resources development, increasing student participation in competitions that support internationalization, and enhancing quality assurance aspects. Prof. Venus also acknowledged the faculty’s contributions to university revenue through collaborative programs, emphasizing that the Tour de Faculty serves as a shared reflection platform to drive sustainable and impactful transformation at UPNVJ.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
