EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Rector of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm., directly monitored the use of the Rangu and Anggrek Parking Areas at the UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (August 18, 2026). The inspection was conducted as activities for new students in the 2026/2027 academic year began, with the aim of ensuring that supporting campus facilities were capable of accommodating vehicle mobility in an orderly, safe, and comfortable manner. The Rector inspected vehicle traffic flows, parking arrangements, and the utilization of the facilities by students and members of the academic community.

The monitoring was part of UPNVJ’s ongoing attention to campus facilities and infrastructure amid increased activity at the beginning of the new academic year. The growing mobility of students requires effective vehicle management to prevent congestion from becoming concentrated within the main area of the Pondok Labu Campus.

During the inspection, Prof. Venus observed the conditions of the Rangu and Anggrek Parking Areas firsthand, including vehicle movements and the way vehicles were positioned by users. He also ensured that the parking spaces provided by the university were functioning according to users’ needs and supporting the smooth implementation of academic and student activities.

“We want to see firsthand how these parking areas are being used, particularly with the increased activity of new students. The available facilities must be utilized properly so that they can support the smooth running of activities for the entire academic community,” said Prof. Venus.

The Rangu Parking Area is part of UPNVJ’s facility development efforts to expand parking capacity around the Pondok Labu Campus. The area on Jalan Rangu, Pangkalan Jati, was previously developed by the university to help distribute vehicles entering the campus area, preventing them from being concentrated at a single point.

In addition to the Rangu and Anggrek Parking Areas, UPNVJ also provides several alternative parking locations for vehicle users. To facilitate access for students and members of the academic community, different parking fee schemes apply at each location. APU 2 Parking is available free of charge until October 2026, while the Anggrek Parking Area charges Rp4,000 for motorcycles and Rp15,000 for cars. Meanwhile, Skyparking charges Rp2,000 for motorcycles and Rp5,000 for cars.

Information regarding these parking fees is important for users when determining the parking location that best suits their needs. With several parking options available, vehicle users can distribute their vehicles across the designated areas, thereby helping to reduce congestion in the main campus area.

UPNVJ continues to organize its parking facilities by providing several alternative parking locations. This policy is intended to reduce vehicle congestion, improve orderliness, and maintain a more comfortable campus environment for students, lecturers, administrative staff, and other facility users.

For new students, the management of supporting facilities is an important part of their initial university experience. Campus readiness is determined not only by classrooms and academic services but also by supporting facilities that are directly connected to students’ daily mobility and comfort.

Therefore, the monitoring extends beyond the availability of parking spaces. The university is also paying attention to patterns of facility utilization to ensure that the facilities provided genuinely address users’ needs, particularly as academic activities return to full capacity.

This arrangement also supports the development of a more orderly and student-friendly environment at the UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus. The distribution of vehicles to designated parking areas is expected to reduce the number of vehicles stopping or parking in locations that could obstruct traffic within the main campus area.

Prof. Venus emphasized that the provision and management of facilities are part of the university’s responsibility to improve the quality of services provided to students. According to him, campus infrastructure needs to be continuously evaluated based on users’ actual needs, so that development efforts not only increase the number of facilities but also provide tangible benefits to the academic community.

Through the optimization of the Rangu and Anggrek Parking Areas, along with several other alternative parking locations, UPNVJ seeks to ensure that the increase in campus activity during the 2026/2027 academic year is accompanied by adequate facility management. This effort forms part of the university’s policy to create a more orderly, safe, comfortable, and supportive learning environment for students from the very beginning of their university experience.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
