EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Faculty of Law at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (FH UPNVJ) has achieved another notable national milestone, ranking ninth among Indonesia’s top 10 law schools in the Top Indonesian Law Schools 2026 ranking published by Hukumonline. The achievement places UPNVJ alongside several leading universities and further strengthens its reputation in higher legal education.
The Top Indonesian Law Schools 2026 ranking is an annual publication by Hukumonline that assesses the quality and competitiveness of legal education institutions in Indonesia. The evaluation is based on four main indicators: the number of Golden Alumni, national accreditation of undergraduate law study programs by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), SINTA Score, and the international reputation of law study programs.
In this year’s ranking, FH UPNVJ received assessment results that highlighted the institution’s strengths, particularly in accreditation and research productivity. UPNVJ was rated “Adequate” for the Golden Alumni indicator, while its undergraduate Law Study Program received an “Excellent” rating for national accreditation. The faculty earned an “Outstanding” rating for its SINTA Score, while its international reputation was rated “Adequate.”
The “Outstanding” rating for SINTA Score was one of the faculty’s most notable results. It reflects the strength of its research performance and scholarly publications, which are essential to improving academic quality in higher education. Meanwhile, the “Excellent” accreditation rating recognizes the quality of UPNVJ’s undergraduate Law Study Program in accordance with national accreditation standards.
According to Hukumonline’s ranking, Universitas Indonesia took first place, followed by Universitas Padjadjaran in second and Universitas Diponegoro in third. Fourth through eighth place went to Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Trisakti, Universitas Negeri Semarang and Universitas Andalas, respectively. FH UPNVJ ranked ninth, followed by Universitas Sumatera Utara in tenth place.
The ranking offers a snapshot of how law schools are responding to developments in higher education, industry needs and the evolving legal profession. By weighing the four indicators, Hukumonline seeks to provide an assessment encompassing academic quality, alumni contributions, research productivity and institutional reputation on the global stage.
For UPNVJ, securing a place among Indonesia’s top 10 law schools marks an opportunity to further improve educational quality, strengthen its research culture, develop its alumni network and expand national and international collaborations.
The achievement also reflects UPNVJ’s commitment as a Bela Negara campus to producing competent, ethical and adaptable law graduates who can respond to changing times and make meaningful contributions to society and the development of Indonesia’s legal system.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
