EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has officially received a decree (SK) approving the opening of its Master’s Program in Information Systems.
The official document was handed over at the Jakarta office of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) Region III on Thursday (Sept. 24, 2026). UPNVJ was represented by the head of its Institute for Quality Assurance and Learning Development (LPMPP), who received the decree directly.
The decree provides the legal basis for UPNVJ to operate a postgraduate program in information systems. The addition of the new program brings the total number of study programs at UPNVJ to 46, reflecting the university’s continued commitment to expanding its contribution to higher education and producing highly skilled human resources in the digital era.
During the event, the head of LLDikti Region III delivered a number of strategic directions and highlighted key issues to representatives of private and public universities in attendance.
One of the main points was the requirement for universities to implement learning-outcome-based curricula, or Outcome-Based Education (OBE), in line with Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Regulation No. 39 of 2025. Universities are expected to develop adaptive curricula and learning designs that are relevant to industry needs and focused on graduate competencies.
In addition to OBE-based curricula, the LLDikti Region III head stressed the importance of obtaining initial accreditation for newly established study programs through the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) or the relevant independent accreditation agency (LAM).
The step is considered essential to ensure academic quality and provide students with certainty regarding the accreditation status of their study programs.
Other key issues discussed included meeting minimum requirements for teaching staff in accordance with qualification standards and strengthening internal quality assurance systems (SPMI) at universities.
Consistent and sustainable implementation of SPMI is essential to maintaining the quality of academic governance.
Representing UPNVJ’s leadership, the head of LPMPP welcomed the issuance of the decree and expressed the university’s readiness to follow up on all applicable regulations.
UPNVJ has committed to finalizing preparations for the OBE-based curriculum, meeting quality assurance standards and providing the necessary facilities and infrastructure to ensure that the Master’s Program in Information Systems is delivered in accordance with national higher education standards.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
