EduasiaNews, Bandung – Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) hosted a delegation from Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) at the Executive Lounge of Unpad’s Dipati Ukur Campus in Bandung on Friday (Sept. 25).
The visit was part of efforts to strengthen ties between Unpad and SISU, which have been established since 2005, while exploring opportunities for cooperation in academic and educational fields.
“Through this discussion, the two universities can identify practical follow-up steps and translate the relationship we have built over the years into more concrete, sustainable and mutually beneficial initiatives,” said Unpad Acting Rector Prof. Widya S. Sumadinata, who also serves as the university’s vice rector for resources and governance.
Prof. Widya said Unpad was committed to expanding and strengthening its strategic cooperation with SISU. The partnership is expected to cover student and faculty mobility, joint academic and training programs, collaborative research, seminars and academic forums, as well as cooperation in various other fields.
SISU Rector Meng Zhongjie meanwhile put forward three proposals to strengthen cooperation between the two universities: talent development, research collaboration, and opportunities for SISU students to undertake internships and practical activities in Indonesia.
“I hope that in our subsequent discussions, we can explore various opportunities for cooperation with our colleagues at Unpad. I also hope that the two universities can find ways to support students and professors in conducting joint research,” Zhongjie said.
The meeting was attended by several deans and senior officials from Unpad, including Faculty of Law Dean Achmad Gusman, Ph.D.; Faculty of Economics and Business Dean Prof. Mohamad Fahmi; Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Dean Prof. M. Benny Alexandri; Faculty of Cultural Sciences Dean Prof. Aquarini Priyatna; Faculty of Communication Sciences Dean Dr. Nindi Aristi; Graduate School Dean Prof. Vijaya Isnaniawardhani; Vocational School Dean Prof. Dr. Kurniawan Saefullah; Academic Director Prof. Aliya Nur Hasanah; Director of Cooperation and Alumni Partnerships Prof. Tomy Perdana; and Head of the International Office Anggia Utami Dewi, Ph.D.
The SISU delegation included senior university and faculty officials.
