
EduAsiaNews, Makasar – Makassar State University (UNM) has been designated as one of the academic State Universities (PTN) in Indonesia with the highest number of admitted prospective students through the 2026 National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP). According to the official announcement, UNM successfully ranked 4th nationally.
In the 2026 SNBP admission process, UNM admitted a total of 3,830 prospective students out of 21,366 applicants, consisting of 10,169 first-choice applicants and 11,197 second-choice applicants.
The Acting Rector of UNM, Prof. Dr. Farida Patittingi, S.H., M.Hum, stated that the ranking achieved in the 2026 SNBP serves as evidence that UNM is one of the leading and highly regarded state universities at the national level.
“The high number of applicants demonstrates that UNM is a preferred university, recognized as a quality institution, particularly among our high-achieving students,” she remarked.
Prof. Farida also explained that the wide range of study programs offered by UNM has become an additional attraction for prospective students in choosing UNM.
“Recently, we have also obtained international accreditation from ASIIN for several study programs, which has further increased prospective students’ interest in choosing UNM,” she added.
It is hoped that UNM will continue to enhance its quality as part of its efforts to strengthen its role as one of the top state universities in Indonesia.
