Universitas Riau Receives Parking Area Development Assistance from Bank Rakyat Indonesia

EduAsiaNews, Riau — Universitas Riau has received assistance for the construction of a parking area for its Integrated Classroom building from Bank Rakyat Indonesia. The official handover ceremony took place at the Kunto Darussalam Room, Rectorate Building of Unri, on Wednesday (April 1, 2026).

The construction of the parking area is part of BRI’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program under BRI Peduli.

The Rector of Unri, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, SE., M.Si., expressed her sincere appreciation to BRI for its support in the development of the parking facility.

“Unri warmly welcomes the construction of this parking area, as it will enhance both comfort and safety for students in their learning activities,” the Rector stated.

Furthermore, she expressed hope that the synergy and collaboration between Unri and BRI would extend beyond campus infrastructure development to include student internship programs and practitioner teaching initiatives.

“Through the practitioner teaching program, we hope that experts from BRI can contribute by teaching and sharing their knowledge and experience with students at Universitas Riau,” she added.

On the same occasion, the Regional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BRI Region 2 Pekanbaru, Dian Kesuma Wardhana, stated that the impact of BRI’s TJSL program is expected to benefit the entire academic community of Unri.

“We hope this collaboration will be sustainable, and BRI remains open to further partnerships, including student internship programs and practitioner teaching initiatives,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Household Affairs Working Group (Pokja), Wahono, S.Pd., M.Si., explained that the parking area provided by BRI has the capacity to accommodate approximately 8,000 two-wheeled vehicles.

Also present at the event were BRI Area Head Faisal Erik and his team, along with Unri leadership, including the Vice Rectors, Bureau Heads, and their respective staff.
