EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — The implementation of the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) is not solely focused on academic achievement, but also on ensuring participants’ physical and mental readiness through the presence of a health team prepared to provide support throughout the examination.

In an interview conducted on Thursday (April 30) at the UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus, Dr. Retno Yulianti, a member of the UTBK health team, emphasized that the presence of medical personnel at the examination site plays a crucial role in fostering a sense of security among participants. “Our presence not only provides medical facilities, but also offers reassurance and a sense of security for the participants, particularly given the pressure they face during the examination,” said Dr. Retno.

According to her, UTBK is a significant milestone for participants, one that has been prepared for over many years. However, throughout this process, issues such as anxiety, lack of sleep, digestive disturbances, or migraines often arise. The presence of the health team ensures that participants need not worry about health-related problems, as assistance is always available. “A sense of security is not only about medical facilities, but also about the presence of medical personnel who are ready to provide both assistance and psychological support,” she added.

Furthermore, Dr. Retno explained that the healthcare services provided during UTBK at UPNVJ also reflect the implementation of Bela Negara (state defense) values. In her view, UTBK serves as a gateway to developing high-quality human resources who will play an important role in the nation. Therefore, health conditions must not become a barrier preventing participants from accessing fair opportunities. “We are here to ensure that health issues do not hinder eligible participants from continuing the examination. We safeguard the ‘rear line’ so they can strive at the ‘front line’,” she explained.

In practice, the medical interventions provided are not always complex. Dr. Retno cited simple measures, such as providing warm sweet tea and biscuits to participants experiencing low blood sugar due to fatigue. These actions have proven effective in enabling participants to continue the examination smoothly.

In addition, the UTBK health team at UPNVJ maintains a balance between strict adherence to regulations and a humanistic approach. “We ensure that all interventions are carried out swiftly, accurately, and discreetly, without disrupting the examination process. Communication with proctors remains well-coordinated, and our approach to participants is grounded in empathy,” Dr. Retno added.

Through this approach, the implementation of UTBK at UPNVJ not only upholds high standards of credibility but also ensures that participants are treated with humanity and care. The presence of the health team demonstrates that the success of an examination is determined not only by academic ability, but also by a supportive environment that prioritizes participants’ well-being.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
